O.k. don't flame me please. I just got back from a quick 3 day jaunt. We haven't been to DL since July 05. Wow is it just me or has the food gone down the tubes? We always loved Rancho Del Zocalo, and this time is was terrible. I had kids meal soft taco... it was terrible, and DH had Chicken he only had 3 bites if that and said it was cold and aweful. Then we had dinner at Riverbelle Terrace and I had a turkey sandwhich and Dh had Ribs. Neither of us ate it all, but turkey Sand. Was not too bad. However both places the portions were small and prices outragous. We paid about $26 - $30 at both of the above places. We did breakfast at the Bakery on main street it was good, 2 muffins, 2 tea's for $12.00 a little high. And then we did lunch at Taste piolots grill in DCA. DH got a burger, I got chicken sand. 2 soda's was about $26.00. ANd if the food was great and portions were at least comparible with DIsneyworlds portions I wouldn't be complaining. And then we were so burnt out on how bad the food was and high it was we ate at Granvilles steakhouse at Disney Hotel. This was hands down the best meal of our trip. For 5 of us, DH, DS 7, my mom and dad and myself. We ordered between the 5 of us, one grilled cheese (DS7), 2 bowls of soup (me, mom) 2 steak dinners (DH, and dad) And soda's. Came up to $124 and it was well worth the walk and price. Best meal in all of DL hands down. We did breakfast at Carnation Cafe, really good but again for two egg breakfasts, and 1 croisantwhich, and kids mickey waffles (mom didn't go to breakfast) bill was $42. I can swallow that, at least food was good. ANd then the Kicker... we did lunch at Blue Bayou. Now as of the other day I would fight anyone into the ground that this place has the best food in all of disneyland. Well, I now have to say it was so so. Never thought I'd ever say that. DH and my dad had prime rib, neither finished it nor cared for it, me and my mom had Monte Cristo, it was o.k. (i've been eating these for like 17 years, they used to be great) and me and my DS7 split mine. ANyone know what happened to the pasta salad that was served with the monte cristo before? We were served a side of nasty!!! or better called some gross potatoes and veggies that were aweful. We were served soup or (gumbo) that was so spicy we never ate it. And by the way, what's the deal with the bread? They used to bring a basket of it to your table, now we were each given one piece and never offered more. The bread there must cost disney like $100 a loaf. ANyway for a bill that ran about $130, I wouldn't do it again. It was no good. And just a side note for Blue Bayou... we had a ressie for 1:00p.m. got there at 12:50p.m. and checked in, we were not seated until 1:40p.m. and that's after I yelled at the stupid hostess who somehow said (oh I forgot about you). NICE, all this for $130. I love DL, as a matter of fact we renewed our passes this trip as well, I guess I'm so judgemental casue we just got back from 2 weeks in WDW and we were treated like gold, always seated before our acctual ressie, always given tooooooo much food, all food including fast food was really good, and we were overall treated better. Just wanted you all to know about the food and service.
