Last year I bought my ticket through AAA and they said that even though it says kids are free 11 and under they would let my teens on for free. This year I directly booked through Disneyland Express and put in 1 adult 3 kids with the $10 roundtrip coupon that I found. Has anyone ever been told that they need to pay for their teens, if you have then under a free child ticket? AAA Basically said that they talked to DL Express and that they really don't care if they are early teens. As long as they are not grown adults.

Just want to see what other peoples experiences are. $38 round trip for 4 of us from LAX is a killer deal.

Our neighbor went in May and I recommended DRE to her. She said her 13-yr old son and 14-yr old daugther had to pay the Adult fare. AAA rate gives you 2 free children per adult and from SNA is $20 roundtrip (not sure from LAX).
They paid $80 roundtrip for 4 adults was still a great deal!

But I would just buy your ticket in person with cash so you can ask the driver. We never pre-purchase our DRE tickets, I think it depends on your driver if they will allow you to let your teens ride as children for free.

Have fun!

May I just offer a word of caution? Make sure you deal with Disneyland Resort Express (DRE, like the PP stated), which offers transfers in big luxury buses decorated with 'Cars' theming. When we were at LAX, there were mini-vans going around with "Disneyland Express" written on them. This is not the same company, and not the same comfort level. We had prepaid our transfers, so knew what to look for, but so many seemed to have no idea there was a difference in companies!

So, we do not have to make reservations for the DRE? We will be flying in LAX Sept 5th, midday.

Thanks,

--Lori

When going from LAX to Disneyland, you don't have to, no. The reason we pre-booked was because we had discount coupons of $10 on the round trip, which was rather nice! They do recommend booking your return time to LAX 24 hours ahead of time, at least.

where can you find the 10 off coupons? I also was told many ppl got 13 and under kids free from DRE.

Anaheim tourism site has the coupons. I just use the Disneyland Express bus with my 14 and 15 year old. My son would have not passed for a child. He is just too tall. You can certainly take your chances if your kids look young.

My daughter and her friend still look pretty much the same as last year although now 15 and last year 14, and the lady didn't even wince when I gave her the AAA vouchers. This year I have the receipt that they sent me, the ticket page never printed, so I hope I don't have a problem with that. I think I will call them to make sure.
