Planning a trip next April with friends. I usually stay across the street on Harbor at Best Western or Tropicana.

Wondering - I know there is going to be construction around that area eventually. Will this start soon? And will you still be able to walk across the street to the entrance? I know they are eventually taking out the bus drop off area there, but I'm assuming you can still walk into that entrance to the park gates?

Thanks for any information.

There is currently construction (mainly demolition) behind the Motels mentioned.

By April, yes, much of the Carousel Inn (which officially closed earlier this week) will be in the demolition process. Work might be started on the new Pumbaa Structure, but the zoning hearing has been delay until next month.

The removal of the Crosswalk on Harbor near the Park Vue Inn won't happen until the new Transportation Hub and Pedestrian Bridge are fully open, looks like sometime in 2018 based on the current schedules.

There has been a lot of issues in regards to the City of Anaheim and politics, including the two Wincome 4-star Hotels facing a possible delay in being built (Referendum approved for a vote), and the November election has 2 new City Council seats up for grabs, plus some of the current ones are up for re-election, so it depends how pro-business the make up will be (as compared to pro-Union) and has basically have everyone including Disney in a wait and see mode before moving forward.

Thanks. I would love to go back to the DLH and stay but since their remodel last time, I just can't afford the rates. It was more than the GC for my dates! I wouldn't dream of staying off site at WDW, usually rent DVC points there. But DL doesn't have affordable options on-site.

Come with me and Em in January!!! Do you have the Chase card for Disney? There's a 20% discount (maybe it was up to 25%?) (up through Oct 26 preferred reservations for the card members).

Good to know about this construction business... we'll have to figure out new hotels to stay at once it's done.

That would have been a great idea! I actually have never been in January!
