Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

I hate her for you too!!

BTW, at Mickey D's, you can get their Southwest or Asian chicken salads and they are really good and not bad calorie wise at all. Just make sure you get the grilled chicken on top, not the crispy. :thumbsup2

I had cheeseburgers :headache::sad2: and fries :sad2:

Yeah McDs is no longer in my vocabulary or in sight.

I'm going to the gym tonight (better prepared  than last night) and I really want to burn a LOT of calories tonight (I'm going for the crazy goal of 800)

OK....survived my second treadmill experience in the C25K. Today was harder than Sunday, and I definitely still felt soreness in my muscles from the last time. But I made it!!

I made the mistake of looking ahead and am already seriously stressing out about week 5. Why did I peek?????

Just gonna try to take it one day at a time.

But today I was STARVING!! Not sure why, except it was a stressful day at work. Stuck to healthy foods all day, although I tossed my smart ones that I was SUPPOSED to eat for lunch and had a yummy grilled chicken breast and yams from the cafeteria. Yams are comfort food for me. Stuck to fruits and veggies the rest of the day, had some turkey breast for dinner. My lone naughty treat was some nonfat frozen yogurt..which would have been fine, but I put some of the crushed candy topping on top. It was delic and worth every calorie!!

And like Cristabel....Aunt Flo is here.....which explains these cravings!!!

Kudos to everyone for sticking to their plans.

And JEN!!! What an awesome exchange gift for Beth!! I am so excited!! Except that she totally thinks I was in on it and I SO WASN'T!!

Hey there Cristabel....I try to stay away from BK, McD's etc, but once in a while I get the urge when I take the kids....I have a kids meal instead of a regular. Even the cheeseburger and fries isn't horrible in the kids meal. The chicken nuggets are even less calories. And if you get either and sub the apple slices with caramel (which is yummy) for the fries its even less calories!!

The other thing I like there is the fruit and yogurt parfait. Also a good choice. :thumbsup2

CONGRATULATIONS on the treadmill!! Make sure to stretch and ice muscle soreness. Also, do you have good running shoes? An absolute MUST for this running. It WILL get easier.

Oh, and I guess I should have contacted you about the Beth gift exchange. I sort of mentioned you as someone who would drive her there in my gift notes...hmmm...well, I hope that's ok. :rolleyes1 Now that I got her registered, I think you're going to have to make sure she actually comes (you are actually coming aren't you Beth??) . It's going to be fun! Really!

OK, I have to get to work. I have been SO BAD about work for like two weeks now and I need to be productive. :sad2:

Later ladies...

Jen you are so good to us! You are right on....I haven't been stretching enough. Will remember that. And I bought running shoes but the more I read I am thinking I should go get measured etc at a running store. It sounds like the style is important depending on how you walk etc.

I am hoping it will get easier...actually I would be ok if it stayed the same. Its the fear of it getting worse that is really worrying me. Going from 1 to 2 to 3 to 5 to 8 minute runs seems doable over the next few weeks...but then it goes straight to 20 minutes with no walking and THAT is freaking me out. I think I need to set up some kind of "buddy system" so someone knows when I am on the treadmill who can call 911 if I disappear for a while (because I am unconscious on the floor).

Ok...a little dramatic, but I'm late and tired.

And don't worry at all about Beth...I had already tried to rope her into the marathon before...she knows she has a ride and a room. Just needs to line up her home life for a few and we are soooo there!!! And using my developer points to stay at GCH, which I've NEVER done before!! So it will be fun! I'm so glad you did that for her, she needed a little push. :thumbsup2

Right Beth??

That is so funny about you in miniskirts getting called into the principals!:rotfl: Were you shortening your skirts or did they just come that short? Because you're tall, the minis must have been shorter on you.

Beth - quick, do you like cocoa? You can make a cup of cocoa with nf milk, pure cocoa and whatever fake sweetener you like. The protein in the milk will help and the milk is a destresser.....
I bought the shorter ones. The shorter the better. I dressed like a Bratz doll. :rotfl2: But I was still a good girl. No really. I was.

I do like cocoa! What a good idea. Thanks.

I had cheeseburgers :headache::sad2: and fries :sad2:
It happens. Live and learn and keep moving forward.

And JEN!!! What an awesome exchange gift for Beth!! I am so excited!! Except that she totally thinks I was in on it and I SO WASN'T!!
Liar. :rolleyes1

Awesome work on the treadmill you skinny witch! :cheer2:

Liar. :rolleyes1

;) I'm going to really try. Amy and I talked about it last night. I want to! :yay:

I'm so glad you did that for her, she needed a little push. :thumbsup2

Right Beth??
Yep. It's good I have pushers. :thumbsup2

Good morning WISHers!! I'm going to throw my scale out the window! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay:

Well, not really, but I should. I am doing what I always said I would NOT do. I'm weighing myself daily, sometimes multiple times a day. A big no-no and I know that. I know that weight fluctuates over the week and even over the day. And yet I hop on there anyway and get all bummed over a half pound increase. :sad2:

Somebody stop me! lol

Have a great day ladies!! Catch ya later.

Remember to drink that water ladies!!

I did the exact same thing - looked ahead! :sad2: I was sooo nervous to do the 20 min. without walking - it does jump quickly from 8 min. runs to 20 min. I did the 20 min. run while in FL - it was a struggle and I ran at a snails pace, but I did it. You can do it too! You'll be amazed at how quickly your body really does adapt. In my wildest dreams I would never have imagined myself running 2+ miles without walking but that is exactly what I am doing now. It's still hard at times but when you have those occasional great runs it is such a great feeling!:)

Amy, my coach just this week told me to eat yams. Said they are awesome healthy carbs that don't spike your blood sugar. I'm losing eating half of one with a meal.

Your treat is my favorite treat. We have these places where you can serve your own, so you can just get a few ounces if you want. And you serve the topping too, so you can make it a mini treat. They are worth the calories when you really need a hit.

I bought the shorter ones. The shorter the better. I dressed like a Bratz doll. :rotfl2: But I was still a good girl. No really. I was.

That is so cute, Beth the Bratz doll.
And I believe you.
Yeah, weighing yourself more than once a day doesn't tell you anything. It's also good to weigh yourself at the same time whenever you do choose to weigh.

That is awesome. :yay:

AMY - please check your PMs, email. Thx.

Hiya gals! Just checking in for accountability. Dh and I walked for almost an hour this morning. Still feeling bloated and fat. Why is that?? Dh says it's the change of seasons, but he also says it's because we're not having enough . . . tv watching time. :rolleyes1

funny-=-that seems to be the reason men come up with a lot!

I love yams, so glad to hear that they are good carbs! The other day at the Festival of Books, Bob and the kids wanted corn on the cob I knew that wasnt' good for me so the same vendor was selling yams so I told them to hold the butter and put some brown sugar on the side and it was so good!

Now I want to go to the store for yams!!

Right Beth??

When you get to that 20 minutes, take it SLOW and EASY -- so it feels too easy for you. Just focus on completing the time in a very below maximum effort sort of way. It'll be doable once you get there. Trust me.

Are you offering Beth a room at GCH? If that's the case, I'm sure she'll be there! I bet we can sign her up for the 1/2 marathon!

I am so like that. Either I won't step on the scale AT ALL or I'm checking all the time. :headache:

"TV watching" is great exercise! :thumbsup2 Your DH may have a valid point. :rotfl:

Is corn on the cob bad? Even without butter? I thought it was an OK carb. (it's on WW core program, isn't it?) Yams are good. Any good recipes out there or easy ways to prepare to share?

I did my weights today. I'm supposed to do an hour of hill running. :lmao: I haven't yet done my hour of hill running on Wednesdays. I mean either I'm going to run an hour or I'm going to do 30 minutes of hills. An hour of hills...well that's just crazy! We'll see if I get any running in tonight. I've got to do it before DH gets home as he's bringing home shawarmas and there's no way I'm going to be able to run after eating those!

Oh, and my mood got a lot better today. Fed Ex man came and delivered two premium DL APs. :cool1: So who knows...there may be a trip to DL in my nearish future (sometime before Sept). Now this swine flu isn't any reason to stay away is it? That word "pandemic" is just a little alarming. Can we contain this thing already??

Later!

Yeah, that's not going to keep me away from Dl. I will wash my hands more and for twenty seconds.

The corn issue. Some people think corn spikes blood sugar so they avoid it. Other people use corn sparingly as another veggie. I will ask my coach and report back next week.

Okay, here's how easy yams are - poke it with a fork and pop it in the toaster oven at 350 ish for about 1/2 hr (this really varies depending on the toaster oven). You can take it out, cut in half and eat half and put the other half in the fridge. If you have time, take it out and put it in a plastic ziplock type bag and let it caramelize on the counter for like 30 min to an hour.

You can eat plain or if you have a great balsamic vinegar around (no subs, great ones are a bit sweet), a few drops of that are so yummy.

Callie, your husband could be onto something...

Good luck with weigh in tomorrow everyone!! I hope we all see pretty numbers on the scale.

This has felt like the longest week ever. It's been so rough. Not that I haven't been staying on track this week, I actually have been. Every single day in fact, I've done some form of exercise AND stayed within my calorie allotment.

But it's been such a struggle. Every day, every meal I feel is a battle to make healthy choices when I really want a hamburger or Mexican. And to not eat more than I should. And to stick with one 100 calorie pack instead of the two or three that I really want.
Honestly, it's exhausting. Is it this hard for anyone else?? :confused3

Oh, is Friday weigh-in day? Our scale has bit the dust I'm afraid. It has been acting funny, and now just reads ERROR on it. Cheap digital piece of plastic. I need to pick up a better quality old-school type scale. Ya know, the one that weighs you 5-10 lbs less than a doctor's sale? :lmao:

Honestly, it's exhausting. Is it this hard for anyone else?? :confused3

Yep! Thursday is Survivor Pizza Night in our house. It's a tradition that is really, really bad for us. :sad2: I always try to stop at 2 small pieces and eat lots of carrots, but I usually end up eating 3-4 pieces and Kadee's crust! :headache:

This morning my dh had to practically drag my butt outta bed and tie my shoes to get me out the door. I just didn't wanna do it. Of course, I felt great afterward, but geesh, I am soooo not a morning person. It usually takes about an hour for my brain to connect to my mouth in the mornings, so our walks can be pretty darn quiet.

Oh, I did pick up on of those huge 64 oz water bottles with a handle and sport top to help me measure my daily water intake. I'm cheating and using crystal light type stuff in them sometimes.

Anyway, Beth you are not alone. There is a reason that the first three letters of diet are DIE! It's not fun, especially with all the convenient foods out there taunting us to make easy/poor choices.

Good for you for making all the right choices this week! I can't say that I've done that at all. :rolleyes1

Ok here's the lowdown

Monday - only able to burn 200 kcal before AF showed up; Not enough water intake.
Tuesday- no gym & horrible eating :sad2: DRANK 5 CUPS OF WATER :thumbsup2
Wednesday - I had the worst munchies but adding everything up I stayed within my calorie count. Burned 400 kcal on elliptical; DRANK 6 CUPS OF WATER :thumbsup2
Thursday - so far I have only had 1200 calories; No gym after night class because I'm seeing the midnight showing of Wolverine
Friday(GOALS) - Eat well :thumbsup2 Stick to 1600-1700 calories. Go the gym (closes @ 10pm) and burn 400+ (aiming for more!) via the treadmill, bike, elliptical & the pool. I definitely plan on sitting in the sauna

Saturday (GOALS) - Eat well :thumbsup2 Stick to 1600-1700 calories. Go the gym (closes @ 8pm) & burn 400+ calories via treadmill, bike, elliptical, pool & MAYBE the StairMaster (MY WORST ENEMY:scared:). The sauna & jacuzzi sound lovely :cloud9:

Sunday
(GOALS) - The hardest day to stay in calorie range but I will definitely try my hardest! Maybe go to the gym (closes at 8pm) & swim laps.

Drink your water!
