Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Yep, it's hard for me and I hate dieting! This has been week one and ugh...but I've stuck with it but tonight we've been invited out for mexican food and I LOVE mexican!! :lovestruc I need to plan ahead because I can't mess up now before weigh in tomorrow!! Did I mention I hate dieting!!!

On a positive note: I ran today for 2.55 miles in 37 min. I am not breaking any speed records! I still have a sore muscle in my inner thigh and now I am limping - I hope the soreness goes away by Sat. my next run day!! If not I may have to take two days off because I don't want it to turn into a 'real' injury.

Thanks guys. At least I'm not alone!

Cristabel, those goals sounds great. Good work.

Callie, we have a pizza night too. And a taco Sunday. I used to watch my favorite shows like Survivor, and Amazing Race while snacking, so now it's hard for me to give that up because for so long I associated the two together.

Vicki, congrats on the run! And I love Mexican too. I'd give up sweets sooner than I'd give up Mexican food.

Ah well, I did good all week, only to blow it tonight. Maybe the thought of the weigh in tomorrow had me sabotaging myself. Who knows.
Actually, I didn't eat too many calories, but I think I ate them all in Little Debbie's.
I guess we'll find out the damage in the morning.

I just had to come post here and boast about something!!! I went to the emergency clinic about 2 1/2 weeks ago for an ear infection and weighed in at 210. Today I went to my "lady" doctor and weighed in at 206. I'm really really trying to be better about the amount of food that I eat and the quality. Right now I haven't been as active as I should be simply because I've been trying not to pull out all of my hair trying to finish art school, but that is changing as of this weekend :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay: I was so excited when I saw that scale stop jumping at 206 though and thought you all might be happy for me too! :wizard: Thanks for letting me gloat!

OH also, I was house sitting for my parents for the week and drank their entire 5 gallon mountain valley spring water bottle by myself just in that week. Man that water is good and I miss it!

Aww thanks! I really do feel proud and I needed that confidence boost. AND that's only the beginning. To the new healthier me.... HERE I COME! :yay:

Well, I don't own a scale. I used to weigh myself about every 5 minutes and drove myself crazy, so just got rid of it. So, I weighed myself today at the YMCA...major leap of faith to get on the thing. I was actually relieved. I am 188. I've been worse, so I think I can work with that.

So, I am eating somewhat better. I have always found once I start exercising, I automatically eat better. I just am not ready to seriously diet when I am just getting started again with my work out.

I swam for 1 hour today, 2700 yards. I am tired now!!

Keep up the good work everyone!!

I just thought I'd post a delicious healthy treat that I often enjoy. My grandparents were from the south, Tennessee, and would give us grapefruit halves when we were little. They would cut them around the edges the put crushed peppermint on top. They had grapefruit spoons, but I just use small spoons now and it's just filling enough to satisfy and is so refreshing! I know that not everybody likes grapefruit. I can't stand it any other way. I don't care for juice especially! The peppermint makes it perfect though. :thumbsup2

You too!! Way to go on the swimming, and stepping on the scale. :cheer2:

Hmmmmm, not a fan of grapefruit or peppermint, lol, but ya know, someone else might find that delicious so it's always good to share treats like that. Thanks. :)

Well, I weighed in this morning and am down from 214.6 to 211.8 for a loss of -2.8 pounds.

Not as much as I was hoping for to be honest. It seems like such a long hard week for not even a 3 pound loss, (and I know if I ate a burger that weight would be back on in a second, lol) BUT I AM on track with the goal I set of 2 pounds a week. So that's good. And I guess more realistic.
Better to lose slowly, safely and smartly I suppose.

Good luck to everyone else!!!!! :cool1:

Keep it up! :cheer2:

You are all awesome and I'm so proud of you. :goodvibes

Everybody is doing AWESOME!

I will weigh next week. Auntie Flo is here and I hate weighing myself during that time. I always gain during this time...so I am bypassing the scale.:thumbsup2

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Beth - Great loss! I know we can never loose fast enough but you did meet your goal of 2 pounds!

I weighed today and I lost 5 lbs. but this was my first week so I know it's 'water weight' but I am still happy with that loss. I did eat mexican food last night but I was good...ugh. I sooo wanted a margarita but I had a diet coke instead...TWO tortilla chips and I had steak and chicken fajita's and some rice. I did not eat the refried beans my favorite...I just tried to talk a lot and ignore the food and the margarita's. I guess it paid off but it was really hard!! :sad2: I'm trying to be positive about dieting but there are times when it is more difficult.

I hope everyone is having a great morning!

That's how I feel! It's so stinkin hard. It takes a week of staying on track to lose 2-3 pounds but watch, if I go of track and eat out even ONCE, that weight will be right back on.
So annoying. And then there are people like my half brother who eats every freaking thing in sight, and never gains an ounce. Literally. The man has been the same weight since high school, and eats like a horse. :headache:

Anyway, I hope I don't bring too much of a negative vibe to this thread. I am trying and I will not give up, it just is hard work. That's all I'm saying.

Congrats on your loss though!!!! 5 pounds is amazing, and I bet you feel awesome!! :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: Good job on restraining with the Mexican food. That is some feat for sure! :thumbsup2

January ~ I don't blame you. Aunt Flo is a PITA and always makes me gain.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :cool1:
And, hello, almost 3 pounds IS a BIG loss. I'm afraid you all are going to start cutting off your limbs to lose weight more rapidly. If you can keep at this rate of approx. 10 pounds a month, you'll be down another 50 pounds for the October meet. It's the consistency of keeping the momentum going week after week that does the magic, not losing huge amounts of weight in one week. You are doing awesome. And it will get slightly less painful once you get back into your healthy habits. And if you keep up your exercise, it'll be all that much easier!

CONGRATS! 5 pounds is AWESOME!

So for me, I didn't lose a thing. But I exercised!

Hmmm, don't give me ideas! :rotfl2:

No, you are right. It's all about being consistent and sticking with it. I'm in this for the long haul, and I just have to keep reminding myself, that I WILL get to where I want to be. We all will. :goodvibes :grouphug:

Great job on the exercising!!

I don't feel that you are being negative at all...I think it's great that we can share it all - struggles/successes with people who understand!

So for me, I didn't lose a thing. But I exercised!

 I want to be like you when I 'grow up'...running hills!

It's all about being healthy! Whether you exercise or lose pounds, fat, inches, or gain muscle, health is the key. So I'm proud of you! :woohoo:

That's 108 laps! (if you're swimming a 25 yard pool, that's the kind we have at LA Fitness)
The only thing I don't like about swimming is that after I get out I'm simply RAVENOUS and I want to eat everything in sight!

But I feel like that now anyways:lmao: I think it's time to start chugging water!

Oh my! Is it really 108 laps!? Well, our little fish did just keep on swimming. Awesome job Dory!:cheer2:
