Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

The weight scale made me laugh this morning.

I stepped on the scale, crossing my fingers that I didn't gain, and it said 249!

- 2lbs!

Good bye 250s!:woohoo:

Cristabel, I too weighed in at 249 this week! We both made it just like we were hoping we would! I love it when the scale is generous!

On a not so good note I think I may have broken my baby toe! I jammed it on a door jam (hmmm, maybe that's why it was named that:confused3 ). Anyway, that could put a big damper on my working out!

On a better note, I bought a pedometer. I tried it out last night and I think my fat jiggles so much that it counts extra steps!:rotfl2: I will have to work on that! I worked out again yesterday and was able to stay up through the whole routine. My muscles ached like crazy at the end but I wasn't as winded as I should have been. I think my muscles hurt so much that I wasn't able to do the intensity and depth that I needed. Hmm. We are not working out tonight as my dh is helping a good friend move...her house is in a revine with a huge long staircase to climb up! His pore thighs!

Drink that water!

Drink that water!

:rolleyes1

I have to admit I have been slacking off on that lately. :sad2: And I didn't exercise today.
It's so hard to stay on track on the weekends because the kids are home and for some reason it just seems to throw me off.

I think that's why I like Fridays as a weigh in day. LOL

I bought a Gazelle today at Walmart... Gonna see if it helps at all... I really need to start toning more so as I lose weight I don't wind up with all sorts of extra skin... we'll see..

To be perfectly honest, I did not do well on drinking my water yesterday. That is what I am focusing on today! I want to have a 2 lb loss this week.

Would it be OK if I vent ladies?

Did someone mention how it's no fun to get sick at Disneyland? Especially with a stomach bug? Well, let me confirm this to be true. On our first night in LA, staying at the kids cousins' house, my DS3 got violently ill in the middle of the night. After staying up all night with him and using up every towel in the house (I don't think we'll be invited back anytime soon :sad2: ) we made it to our hotel in the late morning. Fortunately, we were able to get a room at check in and DS and I stayed in room basically for two days, while my DH, DS5 and cousins and family did the parks. I did get out last night for a wonderful DL date with the hubby, so all was going OK. Then last night in the middle of the night, DH gets violently ill and now is out cold. So, I'm thinking we may not be driving back today and now I"m worried that DS5 and I are next. I'm going to try to get a room for another day, but this is going to end up a very expensive vacation.

Now wouldn't it be great if someone could sell a little vacinnation to ensure that this wouldn't happen during vacation. I'd buy it...at any price ;)

Thanks for letting me vent. Ate a huge dinner last night, but other than that have just been sharing crackers, yogurt and banana with the little one. Can't say that I much care about my weight right now. I just want the family to be healthy.

Send pixie dust. :wizard:

So sorry that there was sickness at DL. I hope that everyone feels better and no one else will get it.

Oh Jen!! I so totally feel your pain!!!!

That happened to me once at WDW! After months of planning and flying all the way from CA to FL, one or more of us spent the trip sick. I remember calling my mom in between throwing up myself and crying, bawling saying this was the most miserable vacation ever and wishing I was home. :sad2:

And the plane ride back?? OMG, it was all I could do to sit there in the seat and not throw up all over everything. Luckily my kids were to tuckered out and slept through the whole plane ride. Once we landed I practically sprinted for the nearest bathroom.

And we've had sick kids on other vacations too. It sucks!!! It's really one of my worst fears, second only to someone getting seriously injured or lost.

I will be thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way. Last time the stomach bug hit us was last December and it made the rounds between all of us except my DH. So wash your hands and use lots of Lysol just in case. Luckily when we had it, it was just a 24 hour thing so as miserable as it was, it didn't last long for each person.

I'm glad you had one nice night with your DH. Take care. We're here if you need to vent more. :grouphug:

Hi ladies!

I hope you all had a good Monday. Today was a cheat day for me. Ruben was off so we went out to lunch. I'm not worried about it. For me, if I don't throw in a cheat day now and then, I go nuts. LOL Tomorrow it's back on track and I'm hoping for a 2 lb loss this week. :wizard:

You didn't even tell us what you cheated with!!! LOL!! :lmao: Tonight I am gonna to start my workout routine with my gazelle edge trainer and for dinner I am having southern spiced tilapia, instant mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese sauce... yummy dinner and only like 460 calories... 200 for the 2 pieces of tilapia, 160 for 1 and 1/3 cup of instant mashed potatoes and 60 for the broccoli... I even have enough left to have 200 calories worth of snack... Should be a good night... :)

So it's Monday night and I'm still in DL. We got the hotel room for another night. DH has slept all day and hopefully will be well enough tomorrow to hit the road. DS3 was great today and the two of us spent an afternoon in Disneyland alone where he got to go on Buzz as many times as he wanted, didn't have to do any "scary rides" and got to enjoy Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise. It really was nice to see him have a good day, feeling well and enjoying DL, after being sick for 2 days in the room. I wanted him to have some special time here with good memories and I think that he has. He got a little stuffed WALL-E doll and hasn't let go of it since Saturday. SO cute. I'm going to give him the Eve tonight for being such a trouoper this trip.

DS5 is doing fine, so far, as am I. He was just a pain in the @Q#$!! this morning and DH agreed to keep him in the room and get him to nap while DS3 and I were in the parks.

So now I'm waiting for everyone to wake up from naps to see what the evening holds for us. I'm trying to stay positive!

Thanks for pixie dust. Seems to be working :wizard: :wizard:

LOL I went to a restaurant called BJ's http://www.bjsrestaurants.com/menu.aspx
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their Avacado Egg Rolls. (Crispy golden wontons wrap a tantalizing blend of avocados, cream cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, pine nuts, chipotle pepper and spices. Served with a sweet tamarind sauce.)
So we ordered those and then I got a Turkey Cobb sandwich, with fries. And for dinner I made Sausage and Pepper sandwiches.

I am SO stuffed! But I'm ready to get back on track for tomorrow. I'm pumped to work out in the morning and to walk. And I've already got my menu planned out so I'll be back on track and hopefully despite today, still lose 2 lbs this week.

Thanks for checking in! I hope your DH feels better. I'm glad you were able to spend some time out today with your DS. You both deserved it. :)

Stay well! :wizard:

I thought it would be cool to post an update picture, so you all (and me) can see what kind of progress I have made so far.

It's not a drastic difference or maybe totally noticeable by looking at this picture but those shorts and shirt are SO big on me now. I remember wearing those for the girls trip this year and they were tight on me. The shirt fit me fine, it's a unisex or mens (I'm not totally sure) 2XL. Now those shorts are so loose, they only stay on because of my hip fat.:lmao:

I'm very happy to see this because I think I look smaller, and I feel it too.
:goodvibes

This is after about 11 weeks of exercise and (trying to) diet.

A loss of 13 lbs and who knows how many inches.

Today has been OK. Tomorrow I'm starting weights with my sister at 7am (:scared: SO EARLY), walk my dog from 8 - 8:45am, breakfast, shower, and drop off my car to get the tires changed (finally), school from 12:50 - 4:20, go home and eat, START C25K program at 6pm (3 miles through the trails)

:woohoo:
Hoping for another two pound loss this week so I can get my 15lb banner!:thumbsup2

I'm definitely going to prepare my food from now on, I'm nearly broke and I have bills to pay so no more buying out (even though it IS healthy).

The change is noticeable!! You are lookin great!!!

Did my gazelle workout... Not as strenuous as I would have liked but I did burn about 200 calories which is nice :) I had Southern Spiced Tilapia for dinner and it was tasty... Gonna go watch CSI with hub and eat my 100 calorie pack of Goldfish and my Disney Fruit Boost Blend (dried blueberries, raisins and pomegranate chips)...

Nite!

Good morning ladies!

I am glad to report that we made it through the night and everyone did just fine! DH is able to get out of bed, little DS is great and so far so good for big DS. DH took the kids to the park for a couple hours so I could pack up and take a meeting or two. I"m supposed to be at work today :headache:

Keep sending pixie dust. Seems to be working. Need enough to get us through a six hour drive today! :wizard:

Cristabel--Thanks for taking those before and after pictures! You look great! Not just smaller, but also healthier! I'm so impressed with your exercise program. Keep up the super work!!!! :thumbsup2

And now for my QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Life is a challenge, meet it.
