Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

MommaU4 - Don't give up. I speak from experience. This is the second time that I've dropped 50lbs with WW and I hit this wall. Last time I gave up and low and behold I had to start all over again. Measuring yourself is a good idea. Have you saved any of your "fat" clothes? I got rid of everything but one pair of jeans. When I'm getting ready to throw in the towel and give up I put them back on to really SEE how far I've come. I REALLY don't want to go back there. Even if you stay on this plateau you haven't gone backwards. I just started to read your October PTR. I love all of your fall pictures. I'm sorry we didn't plan our girls trip later in the month to be able to see all the DL fall decorations. I guess I'll just have to live vicarously through your photos and TR.

Anyone have some good suggestions for the best food choices at DL?
Thanks for reading my PTR. :goodvibes Fall and Halloween is one of my favorite times in DL. But it can be busy and it's getting close to when people need to start thinking about buying Christmas presents which is why I don't think those dates won in the Ladies Only Trip poll.

As for suggestions for food at Disney, Jen gave some GREAT ones! But honestly for me, when I am on vacation, all bets are off. I don't even think about it.

If I see something I want, I order it. That's how I did it in June. But I'll have my family with me and we share. For example, I wanted a funnel cake so we got one, with all the toppings, BUT we all took some of it. And since there are six of us that means each person might only get a few bites.

That actually works out perfect for me because I get to taste it and yet not get so full that I can't sample other items.
As for your trip, is there someone else who'd be willing to split things with you? Tell them if you share everything you'll have more money and more room to sample more goodies.

If we can't fight our way past a week where the scale is possesed even though we are doing things "right" then we are going to be in big trouble in the long run.
:rotfl2: I love it. That's what's wrong!! My scale is possessed. :scared1: :rotfl:

Well, hello ladies!!!!!!! Tomorrow is weigh in day!!! I hope we all get some good news. :yay:  :cheer2:

Happy Thursday Ladies!

Today's my 8th anniversary and we're going out to dinner tonight, so I've been good eating only oatmeal and ran and still plan to do weights so I can eat deliciously tonight. :goodvibes

And now for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Studies indicate that the one quality all successful people have is persistence. They're willing to spend more time accomplishing a task and to perservere in the face of many difficult odds. There's a very positive relationship between people's ability to accomplish any task and the time they're willing to spend on it.

Enjoy your dinner tonight!!! :)

Okay, I didn't reach my 1.5 mile goal today because of traffic. I was cutting it close to get in my 45 minutes of swimming before picking up my DD8 at school and got in a traffic jam on my way to the YMCA. So, I only got in 2000 yards instead of the 2500 I wanted. Bummer, but at least I got wet, next swim day is Saturday!!!!!!

I never weigh myself, which is probably a bad thing, but I found the constant scale watching for me drove me crazy. I would be so downtrodden any time the scale needle went the wrong way, which often led to me slacking on the diet.

My goal is to have my skinny pants fit without discomfort!!! Also, to build up my endurance to swim laps for an hour with only breaks to readjust goggles instead of clinging to the side huffing a puffing!!

If I get back into the habit of exercise, these goals are absolutely attainable!! I do need to do more weight bearing exercise, but since I don't enjoy weights and machines, tend to do a lot less of those. My job is very physical, lifting, bending, crawling on the floor, so get some of a work out at...WOrk.

Hope everyone is well!! AMY

Great job! Starting is the hardest part!

Well, weigh in is tomorrow...I am really hoping for 1 lb down but will be happy if I don't gain. I did well this week although I didn't get in any excersize due to my crazy work schedule. I shouldn't use it as an excuse, but I am exhausted! After this weigh in there is just one more week to reach my goal! But if I don't reach it I will just try to get there the next week. I really want to reach it though...ya know! Good luck everyone, I hope the possessed scale behaves for all of us!

I have been bad lately about posting REALLY late.

Today I arrived home (after doing errands for my mom) around 7pm. I changed and got Osita ready and we went to walk on the trails near my house. We walked for 50 minutes and the equivalent of 1.5 miles. I really didn't feel like going to the gym today so I'm glad I had some activity.

Tomorrow we are going to the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona. We'll be there all day.

What do you guys do if you have a dog and you have an all day event? Tomorrow I have my friend coming by to check on her to see that she's ok and has enough food and water.

Cristabel - I'm in awe that you've decided to take on two 5k run/walks! I hope that I can get to that point some day. NO way could I do a run (really bad knees and ankles), but its a good goal to work towards and you've picked a really great causes to support. BTW, how did the interview go?

I'm really excited for these 5k walks, they are mini-goals that keep me focused and determined but also help me on my way to my final goal. I'm not a great runner either. Tonight when I took my dog walking on the trail, when runners would pass she really wanted to go with them. Seriously, my dog is SO fast. She would be the winner of the puppy marathon. When I did jog, for like 1 minute each time, she wanted to SPRINT!

The interview went alright. I just felt it wasn't where I was supposed to be and lo and behold, I didn't get called back for Mervyns. I did get called back for an interview with the Disney Store, though!:lovestruc

Well, it is my first week with no loss, but I also didn't gain, so that is good. I was on program all week, but I basically ate the same number of calories everyday. I know last time I was on ww I did better if I had a "high" points day somewhere during the week to shake things up, so tonight I am going to have dh take me for mexican food. I will still try to be responsible and I will still count points but I plan to have a margarita and a chicken enchilada and a little bit of rice. I will aim for 10 - 15 points over my daily target. I believe I still get 35 "flex" points each week...right January?

Hope you all had a better w/i than I did.

Sarah

P.S. drink that water!:drinking1 ok, so I know it's not clear, but pretend with me, it is the closest I could find!

OK, feels like it's been a while since I could say this...I lost this week -- 4 sticks of butter (or 1 lb.) I did well on my exercise, ran 14 miles and did 2 weight sessions, plus one yoga class. So a great week for me! :goodvibes

Good luck on the scales this week...whatever the numbers say!

And for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.
Zig Ziglar

It's Friday!!!! TGIF!!

Congratulations to all of you who lost or maintained this week. Good job on those who are out there walking, running, swimming or in some way working their butts off literally!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Keep it up!!! :woohoo:

Last week I was at 230.6 and this week I am at 227.8 for a loss of -2.8 lbs!
Finally, finally, finally I broke into the 220's! (and I can finally get my 35 lb banner!) Damn, I thought I'd never get there. It took me about a month of bouncing between 230 and 233. :headache:

But it feels great to have made it and I don't ever want to see the 230's again!!! LOL I think getting back to focusing on what I needed to do really helped. Also writing down my meal menu a day ahead of time is helping me a lot.

That way I just walk in the kitchen and open the book, see what to make, and fix it. If I'm not standing there with the cupboard or fridge open it's much easier to stick to the things I am supposed to be eating.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great week-end. See ya later!

YEAH BETH!!!

I'm SO glad you had a great week. You definitely were due for a little positive reinforcement from the scale! That nasty thing budges on its own terms, it seems. And that is why we CANNOT give up. A WHOPPING almost 3 lb. weight loss could be just around the corner. Say goodbye and good riddens to 10 sticks of butter! :wave2:

Woohoo!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I want to join. I have gained back all the weight that I lost for the DIS meet and really seemed to do good with ya'lls help last time.

I have always weighed in at 100 lbs and when I hit 50 I went up to 165 and right now I'm 160.5. I need ya'lls help to get my rear (and I have a lot) in gear and lose some weight. :thumbsup2

I know I'm not a Disneyland Diva but I'm working on it. :flower3:

Thank-you! :flower3: I'm so glad I stuck with it even though I was getting really, really ticked off!! :lmao:

Gotta go get ready for another quick walk to pick up the kids. Does anyone know if you do several shorter bouts of exercise over the day, does that have the same effect as one long work out session?

Do we do a weekly weigh in and when is it? I'm being lazy and not looking through all the posts.

Congratulations Beth on your weight loss, awesome!!:thumbsup2

Happy Friday to everyone!!!

Well I have to fess up. Yesterday was AWFUL. The one man in our group was coming back after his wife had a baby and so it was a celebration day. Bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. I did eat a good lunch then we had ice cream sundaes to celebrate the baby in the afternoon (with brownie bites). For dinner I had to help my son's Scout Troop serve dinner at a fundraiser. I just had salad and green beans (no bread, rice, or saucy chicken) thought I was doing well UNTIL they brought out the cheesecake (my downfall) and I had to dish it up. AND they had leftovers! YUP the willpower was completely gone. Oh well, I did drink a lot of water and today is another day...

My weigh in day is Tuesdays so I'll let you know if I'm able to recover. I did hit the gym today and was able to log in 2.1 miles on the eliptical. Added a tracker to my signature to easily count down the miles.

Beth - Congratulations on the great lose! Sorry about the Mervyn's interview but GREAT news about TDS call back. I worked for the stores for 4 years and had a FANTASTIC time. Didn't I hear that Disney was taking the stores back from The Children's Place? Here's some pixiedust: for your next interview.

MommaU4 - Congratulations on the 220's!! I may copy your method of writing down my menu the day before. I'm terrible at tracking.

Shirley - Welcome!!

Hi Shirley!!!! So glad to see you here! If I remember correctly you were one of the big weight loser's of our group last time...that doesn't sound as good as it should!:lmao: Of course, so was I!:rotfl2: We can do it again!:cheer2: So, you going to come with us on this trip...huh...huh...will ya...huh? It would be soooo fun! We could go on splash mountain!

Sarah
P.S. We normally weigh in on Friday's but there are some in the group who have different weigh in days!
