Disneyland Dining Plans

Has anyone used a Disneyland dining plan? Is it worth it? Does it help you budget food costs?

I have never used it, but I've heard pretty much nothing positive about them. They don't save you any money ($1 you pay = $1 of food) and they are vouchers that you don't get change back ... so to get all your money back, I've heard people have to go over the voucher amount. Not fun and kind of inconvenient. One tip I've heard to budget your food costs at disneyland is to buy disney gift cards in the amount that you want to spend on food. Much more flexibility and you don't have to worry about the change, spending the right amounts per voucher. HTH.
