Going to Disneyland on June 16, 17 or 18, 2010. Just saw that there is a Grad Night on 16 and 17 with park closing at 9p. I am assuming that the 18 will be a 12am closing. But i am also seeing that the 18th is more crowded with AP holders getting in their last days. My time is limited to those 3 days and we have to choose only 1...which day would be best?

I would say non grad night would be best. I have heard stories and have read such as well, regarding grad night. Such being, not so pleasent, between crowds, and rowdy kids, and the park closing early. I say go with the 18th, and just make sure that you have FP's and continue to collect them over the course of the day and night. Have a great time!

If the 18th is the last day before APs are blocked, it will be crazy.

Grad night days are not bad at all. The grads are not there during the day. They arrive at night, via bus from their school, as a group. Their ticket does not include admissions during the day so they are irrelevant to your day.

I am not sure what Gisele is referring to regarding "rowdy kids" in terms of the days of grad nights, no more so than any other summer day. Again, the grad night kids are not in the Park during the day.

The shorter hours are sometimes off set by lesser crowds. It's sort of a "crystal ball" question, meaning that no one knows for sure.

We've gone in June when there were grad nights, didn't bother us at all. Like a previous poster said, the kids don't come to the parks during regular park hours. We saw lots of them at our hotel, but even that didn't bother anyone (they were from Hawaii so they didn't come in on a bus, lol).

I would rather stay until 9pm and have usual summer crowds than fight all of O.C. and surrounding areas before they are blocked...

I'm confused .

The 16th 17th and 18th are ALL blocked out for So. Cal passes. All three days are open for Deluxe passes. I don't get why the OP thinks the 18th is the last day before the AP's are blocked out.

Am I missing something?

It's not really an accurate view, but Deluxe passes are blocked out on the 19th. Maybe that's what the OP was noticing. IDK

On our last trip one of our days had to be on a grad night. I was very concerned it would be super crowded with the above mentioned "rowdy kids", and the early close time. However, the parks were practically empty and we walked on just about every ride (maybe 10 minute wait). I think every one else was concerned as well and stayed away. We actually left the park around 5 since we had done all that we wanted to!

Pick a Grad Night night (). The kids won't effect your day as they get to the parks at night.

For sure. First, they show earlier than normal. Plus if you catch fireworks at 9PM then you are in effect extending your park hours. Plus you free up another evening when you do not need to watch fireworks. I would do it for sure.

I was down there on a Grad Night in early June and there were no fireworks, but that may have been because they weren't ramped up for summer yet.
