Hi all..

I was just wondering if its going to be extremely crowded in late August? we are planning on going either aug 18th, 19th or 20th. Which days is the less crowded?

also, when do all the locals go back to school? thanks!!! :stitch:

Hard to say this year... Many are reporting that attendance has been down so far this summer, so maybe it will be lighter than in summers past. Still, it is always busy in August. Also, So Cal AP's are eligible again as of the 17th, so that may bring more people in who have been blocked out during the summer. I was planning to take the kids that week myself as we are So Cal AP holders. My kids school in Ventura County are returning on August 21st.... can't speak for the LA school districts. Anyone else have that info for her?

A lot of schools in Orange County don't go back until after Labor Day, in September.

Crowds lighten up near the end of August - this is why the So. Cal. AP holders are welcome back the last two weeks. Families are focusing on Back to School. Personally, our children go back on Wednesday, the 27th. There are still many school districts in Orange County on year round schedules. Many of the children in our neighborhood go back the day after Labor Day. Hope this helps.

Down here in San Diego most colleges and public schools go back the last week of August (the 25th). Private schools don't go back until after Labor Day.

We are So Cal APs and we're going to brave the parks on the 27th hopefully. I think it will be crowded, but not like normal summer crowds.

Crowds do lighten up some and, while busy, should not be "extremely busy". Avoid Aug 19 (a Magic Morning day at DL). Wednesdays (Aug 20) are the best day to go to DLR.

So here are the preferred days ranked in order of best to worst.

Wed Aug 20
Mon Aug 18
Tue Aug 19
