Hi everyone,

being from the east coast we've made plenty of trips to disneyworld, but have only once before been to disneyland. We're going to be staying at the grand californian from may 7-11 as part of our honeymoon and are starting to wonder about our dining reservations. We would like to try out a few different character dining but weren't able to find too much information on them. How far in advance should character dining be booked and who has the best service, food, etc. Any reviews or suggestions would be wonderful! Also for regular restaurants for romance! :lovestruc . Thanks so much!

A quick run down of what is currently offered:

In Park/ DL: Minnie and friends at the Plaza, breakfast only. Characters vary, typically see: Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Hook, Chip and Dale and the Fairy Godmother. Food is a served buffet (served as in there are people putting food on your plate in most areas of the buffet line). Typical menu: ham, bacon, sausage, buscuits and gravy, waffles, french toast, made to order omelets, cereal, fruit, etc. This is my families favorite.

In Park/ DCA: Ariels w/ princesses. Lunch and dinner. It is table service, with a menu with set courses. Check menu at www.dlresortinfo.com Meal incudes soup or salad, entree, and dessert. I've heard mixed reviews on both food and service.

Hotels: Goofys at the DLH. Brunch or dinner. There are only a couple hours mid day that they are closed. See above link for typical menu. Good selection of kids foods (chicken nuggets, tater tots, pizza), good desserts. Food was ok when we went, nothing great. Its a buffet. Characters vary- Pluto is usually out front posing for photos. Goofy and Max are usually inside along with a princess or two (we saw Snow White). We also saw Donald and Aladin. We werent impressed with our character interaction at this location.

GCH: Storytellers, breakfast only. Either buffet or menu service. Food gets great reviews at this location. Characters are "woodsy" themed- Chip and Dale, a Park Ranger, Koda / Kenia from Brother bear, Meeko, etc. This is the most low key character interaction you'll find. No song and dance or games.

PP: Lilo and stitch, breakfast only. Either buffet or menu service. Food gets pretty good reviews as does the interaction. Characters are Lilo, Stitch and a variety of others some have seen Minnie, Daisy and Pluto.

You can book 60 days in advance.
