Disneyland Attendance Up 9% in 2015

Put in a numerical way: If there were 100,000 visitors on a given day in 2014 there were an extra 9,000 visitors on a given day in 2015. But 18 million visitors over 365 days is less than 50,000 visitors a day. So it’s really only 4,500 more per day. A lot, but not crushing. I wonder what the numbers are up by compared to three years ago.

Except that those visitors didn't evenly spread themselves over all the days of the year.

We were there the last week of October. We definitely felt crushed a few days we were there, but thankfully had a few days that weren't.

True, not every day sees the same number of guests. But it gives us something to go on.

I wonder how much of that increase comes from families like mine who now choose to go to DLR instead of WDW?

I am one of the ones who is attending more this year. I got the cheapo AP. I figured the crowds will probably be astronomical when star wars land opens and I'll want to avoid the area for a couple years.

That makes at least 2 of us. :)

Make it 3!

Though with prices going up so much on tickets, Hawaii may be in our future.

It does look like everything was steady until 2015 and the 60th. I would somewhat agree. My 2013 and 2014 trips in November were pretty nice. Even Feb 2015 wasn't bad at all. Then the 60th hit! Our trip in Nov 2015 was super crowded...nearly as much as our two short weekday trips in June. Hoping that things will chill out a bit before SWL opens in 2018. But probably not.

I realize that number is probably daily gate entries with same people entering on multiple days (not multiple times a day)...With APs and Multi Day Tickets I would be curious on how many unique individuals visited the park in total.

They might once the opening date is announced. I think there was a calm before the storm with Carsland opening. If people know Star Wars will open say December 2018, they may put off their 2017 trip to wait until Star Wars. But it could be a while before Disney announces an expected opening day. I imagine though there is a crowd of people who went for the 60th and are already planning to just wait until Star Wars opens to go again.

Not us! It's already too long to wait...

I'm sure the 60th celebration had something to do with that.

Disney's been advertising it ever since it started like crazy.
