Hi. I scheduled my trip for the end of April to Disneyland in hoping for less crowds. After I made our reservations; tickets, room, air...and found out Disney is starting the Pixar celebration the weekend before. Do you think this will draw a ton of people in at this time? And will the new updates at DCA be complete by then? Thanks.

Yes, I think it will be very busy. It's always very busy when new things debut at DLR.

I don't think the plan is for the Pixar Pier stuff to be open though. I'm thinking I heard summer for that.

Pixar Fest is slated to start on April 13, which is the new fireworks show and the return of the Paint the Night parade. The Pixar Pier (attractions with new overlays) isn't slated to open until "summer", so it's unlikely that those will be open at that point. In terms of the crowds...I think it will be very busy in the evenings when the shows are presented, but it might not have a huge impact on day time crowds. They haven't announced whether PtN and/or the new fireworks show will run nightly or only on weekends, which will also impact crowds. If the shows are only presented on weekends, then that will concentrate the crowds on the weekends, whereas if they're presented nightly, it might distribute the crowds a little (although, I think the weekend evenings will still be very busy).

We purposely plan on being there Tues-Friday. Thx for your input.

I'd be more worried if the dates ran into the DapperDays event.

The Pixar Celebration will bring people to the parks but nothing like when the full Pixar Pier project opens.
