Disneyland AP for Canadians

Hi all,

First, I apologize if I haven't been lucky enough to find a similar post. My husband and I love Disneyland and have been three times in the past three years. We should have already thought of an AP by now.

We're looking at getting and AP for the next trip in Feb/March 2015. Would it be worth it if we planned on staying on site for 5 days with the potential (and more likely if we had an AP) for a trip in 2016? Also does anyone have experience with just having one of us having an AP an the other having a park hopper?

My Mom has had an annual pass for years, and I'd often go with her and get a park hopper. Always worked well for us. My Mom splurged and got the premium pass, which depending on how much shopping you do and where you like to eat can save you quite a bit. When we stay on-site the savings there are nice too, but it depends what time of year you go. We haven't had great luck getting really good AP rates, but every little bit helps! Plus, since you can't get six-day hoppers, if you wanted to run in to the parks quickly on your last morning or something then you can do that!

If you do decide for just one of you to get an AP, if you're using it for discount on merchandise, make sure whoever is paying for the merchandise is the one whose AP it is. They are super picky about lending your pass to other people to get discounts! And a last warning, having an AP definitely makes it easier to justify popping down there for a random, unplanned trip, lol!

We upgraded three 5 day hoppers from Airmiles to deluxe AP's in 2013. We always stay for about 10 days so it makes sense on the money end. If you think you will do two trips I would definitely do the AP's.
