Disneyland Anniversary Question

Does anyone have an idea of how the crowds will be impacted the week of 4/28-5/7? I've been reading about how the Disneyland anniversary will flow into WDW, but I'm unsure how it will effect crowds for that week. We did go President's Day week this year (not realizing how high the crowds were) and other than the MK did not run into too much crowd trouble. We used fast pass whenever we could and did not miss any rides. I was hoping to avoid some of the crowds this time around. Of course our thought is that if we can brave Pres. Day week, we can withstand anything.

May 4-5 will be very busy at MK in particular, with press events and other special activities. Expect one of the parks to close early on either May 3 or 4 so that they can set up for a special event either that night or the next day. On the 5th, expect a lot of people early in the day for all the re-dedications (Small World, if it's ready, Stitch, etc), emptying out a bit afterwards.

If you're staying on site, you can ask at your resort about the schedule of events so that you can work around them. Basically ... stay out of MK on the 5th, unless seeing the special events and ceremonies is what you're looking for.

I'm glad you posted. I'm going to be there the same time and had no idea at all of increase of crowds. At least now I'm prepared.

Thanks WDSearcher! That is exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't sure what specifically would be effected. There was basically nothing in the 2005 books I have read. We are going for 9 days this time so we can hopefully work around the crowds.
