Disneyland 70th speculations and news

We just yesterday morning (Saturday). The keys were in stock as of Friday night when I was last at the emporium. It was a fun scavenger hunt. We only cheated once, lol
We asked a couple of other people who were holding keys where they found certain stations. It was really fun chatting with them and the other searchers were super friendly. :)

Isn’t the small world update just the “last verse?”
I don't think so. On July 7, Disney Parks Blog shared that the last verse will be on Small World in both DLR and WDW. This Disney Parks Top News Today update included holidays at WDW (DPB on July 8), Walt's Legacy (DPB July 11), Halloween merch (DPB July 3), Jollywood (DPB July 9), and this coming soon announcement. I don't think the "exciting update coming soon" would be something that they blogged about 6 days ago.

So I wonder if this means they have changed the last room from "important people" to a preview space then.

We will see soon, if so then great because that leaves more room for the preshow/gallery area to display other things besides art of the future and what not

Also I assume Avatar, Coco and Avengers will be apart of this would love them also to be teasing more but we will have to wait and see

Lots of buzz around the resort.

EE changed to both parks on July 16 and to DCA (instead of DL) on July 17.
Love to hear this
Thursday I assume will be a mad house so this kinda helps

Now I have to avoid spoilers

Just 3 more days

I am kind of hoping the spoilers will curb my need to plan a short trip. I had myself convinced to go in early November (between Halloween & Christmas) until I remembered the small world would likely be closed (are they closing for Christmas overlay?) But then I was thinking early February. I don't know. I am supposed to be going to Seattle but can't get excited about it, like I can for Disneyland

Ohh I get it

I'm lucky enough to go a lotttt of times but in this case I really want to avoid spoilers and hopefully be very happy with the show when I see it in person

When I was going more frequently I avoided spoilers as much as possible as well. There is just something about seeing something for the first time without any spoilers.

The disneyparks IG just released a teaser of the Walt animatronic. Just a fair warning if you see the post with the opera house at the beginning (they show Walt at the very end). I'll reserve judgment until I see the full show in person.

ETA: well now it's all over social media. No spoiler warnings either, just direct footage. 😕

Scott Gustin posted a separate (short) video of the animatronic.

The opinions are going to fly, only because of these videos. We may need a spoiler thread - I don't know how we get through the next week without talking about it.

The voice in the Disney Parks video sounds like an imitator. They couldn't just clean up Walt's existing recordings?

Full videos posted on Instagram/Facebook/TikTok of Walt Disney animatronic.

It's interesting, will have to see in person before I have final opinion. I'm sure it's a hard task to match real human person.
Look forward to see all the new displays before entering show too.

It looks like something they should’ve rebooted Carrousel of Progress with:

- second to last scene: circa 2001: Walt talks about the failure of Disney California Adventure, Rocket Rods, etc. Mentions an annual pass to Disneyland and DCA is less than $150.
- last scene, circa 2025. Based off of Scrooge McDuck’s vault. Walt mentions annual passes are now $1750, require reservations and says they have something called “blackout dates.”

Ride still plays Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow.
