Disneyland 70th speculations and news

@LKing The 70th tour has PTN viewing on the tour. So we know the PTN Plaza Inn Packages go through August 21. PTN has to end on August 21. And the 70th tour ends on August 21 which will be replaced with the Halloween Time Tour.

Do we know where that spot will be vs. the Plaza Inn dining package? And which showing of PTN?

Plaza INN dining parade packages are always on Main Street in Town Square - so PTN dining will be there most likely. Since the tour is more expensive than the dining package - I would assume the viewing area will be better but who knows. I think it will be the 1st showing.

Thanks . . . hopefully we'll here from people who go when it starts in May!

Interesting timing for the tours. 9:15 and 9:45 back to back then 12:30 and 1 pm back to back. It doesn't say that the early tours have early parade viewing and the late tours have late viewing.

Last year there was a tour had fireworks viewing near Small World. Was that the Railroad tour?

Just my guess, but I'm thinking the PTN tour will walk down Main Street and point out the signs. They will ride the Mark Twain, take the train from NOS to Toontown Station where the group will ride Small World. My guess (and this is just a guess) is that guests will be told to return to that area for the parade viewing. The question is, will they move another group in for fireworks or will they let you stay?

I wonder what the keepsake will be and if they will have it on the day of the tour or if they will have to ship it to guests. :rolleyes1

I booked the 9:15AM 70th Tour. It is a 2 hour tour. I agree that it will be a reserved area near Small World. What group for the fireworks are you thinking or talking about? I think you are thinking the Christmas/Holiday Time Tour or the Halloween Time Tour -- I took the Halloween Tour and saw the fireworks and projection show from the ISW area.

We had decided to not go for the 70th and I cancelled 2 of my 4 nights at the Grand. Couldn't bring myself to cancel all 4. I really want to do this tour, it may have changed my mind.

Honestly, the dessert part was fine, but the parade was a let down. It was so short and didn't have any of the cool acrobatic feature that the Pixar parade used to have.
Thanks. Maybe I'll pass. My daughter loves Pixar so we'll watch the parade anyway. I haven't watched a DCA parade in a while, I'll have to think of a good spot to watch from.

Can you please describe "where" the reserved IASW viewing was? I was hoping to grab a spot one night here for the 8:45 PTN and watch the fireworks after. I assumed a 7:45 - 8:00 arrival would give us a shot for a decent seat. Maybe this isn't a good spot to try watching PTN?

The first parade starts near Small World (red line). I believe the reserved seating/standing is usually in the area of the teal circle. The area outlined in purple has street level viewing as well as a terraced, elevated viewing. Personally, I enjoy watching parades from that area. The orange area is all street level. The walkway that they block off can be a bit chaotic so I avoid that area (thicker orange region).

Would you be up for calling Disneyland tours and asking? A friend called was told that all four tours would watch the early parade from Town Square and that the dining packages would watch the second parade from Town Square. I'm not sure the CM knew (sometimes they speculate). With the second show being at 10:45 pm, I would think they would have given guests advance notice that they were reserving a dining package for a late show. It makes more sense for the tour to use one viewing area and the dining package to use another.

That does not sound right. The Plaza Parade dining packages are alwways the first parade showing. There is not enough room for 4 tour groups to watch together unless they expand the reserved viewing area. I'll call today or tomorrow.

Thank you! That further reiterates that the CM didn't know what they were talking about. I know they are trying to help, but it annoys me when they make things up.

I called and was told - the viewing area and the time for the 70th tour parade viewing has not been set. I was also told that it is doubtful that someone on a 9:15AM tour would watch the 10:45PM parade. The cast member said she did not believe tour group members would share a viewing area with dining package tour guests at the same time. She said the tour and the dining package are not the same price. She was very nice and said they will call me and email me back. I also just separately emailed guest services.

I will post the info when I hear back from them. Stay tuned.
