Disneyland 5K 8-30-08 Cheering Squad

Ok the 2006 5K Susan and I volunteered which was great but this time around we're going to cheer. So I will toss a neon green WISH poster in my bag to wave about. But has anyone cheered for the 5K in the past 2 years that can suggest if we should stay in one spot between the 2 parks or will we be able to cheer before they enter the DL Park and then move to the section between the 2 parks???


Wendy I need your son's name so I can be screaming for him!!! I can't wait to see him in action again. It was such great fun seeing him do the Minnie 5K

I probably won't be in a WISH shirt for the cheering but will have the poster. Haven't decided on cow bells yet but was leaning towards them.

I am not doing the 5K, but am walking over from the CCI to cheer. I will have on my WISH scream team shirt. Don't know where I will stand, but some where to take photos and cheer. I am looking for a cowbell or bells on a wrist thing to cheer.

I'd like to go over and cheer as well. Maybe we can all meet up some place. I'll have to look at the map. Tracy - I have a couple of green cowbells. I can bring you one. I really don't need both.

I tried to volunteer for the 5K but all the slots were taken up.

Susie: Cool, bring me one and since we're both over at CCI I'm up for walking over in the AM. I think the hotel has a breakfast of some sort but can't remember what time it is open, but whatever. Thought aobut going over before and then hanging around the area and then the finish.

I'll be running the 5K (and the 1/2 as well) but won't be in WISH gear. If I see the WISH cheering section or poster, I'll make sure to shout out!

I will be in my orange DR shirt but have ordered two WISH buttons to wear on my visor and fuel belt. So keep an eye out for my lovely orange and green combo! I'm going to look like a bowl of sherbet!

IMO, Orange and Green is the BEST combo ever!!!! Be looking for you during the 5k!!!

Thanks for the heads up Casey and Michelle!!! Hopefully the orange will stand out. That doesn't seem like a color most pick for a race so that should just PERFECT! Casey I shall be yelling at everyone with a long pony tail....GO CASEY! Just holler at us as you go by and we'll scream louder and go nuts but there might be a delay in our brains receiving the info till when we start yelling so be prepared for loud screaming about 5 to 10 seconds after you pass us. At least Susan and I.

Tracy and Susie we'll keep our eyes out for you. Susie I chopped my hair off this weekend so it's super short now but Susan will be with me and she still has the long-ish dark hair that now that I say that she will probably wear in a baseball cap LOL

I have a cowbell for you Tracy. They gave them away free last December at the Honolulu Marathon expo. Only thing it's red, and says Saturn (as in cars) on it. I guess you can doctor it up with your fingernail polish .

Linda and I will be doing the 5K(as well as the 1/2) and wearing our DisneyRunning.com Orange shirts as well. Trust me they stand out and you won't miss any of us.

Ok it's official i can't write and watch and the Men's Tri is back on. We're flipping between a Canadian channel and NBC to keep up with the sports we're watching I think we were going to give the tv whiplash during the Women's Marathon LOL
