Just wanted to remind everyone that in order to qualify for a special gift, you need to have made your reservation by December 31. Perhaps now would be a good time to start a roll call. I understand that perhaps we're going to try to have an event before or after the convention. What say you?

Shari

I assume you are talking about the one in August. If so count me in!

Rick and I will be there for the Mystery Disneyana Convention in August.

Hellooo Princess Shari! I'm dragging Mom to it this year, I think we're planning to arrive on the 19th. Where did you hear about the free gift if we register by 12/31? I looked for the info, but couldn't find it and knew they had done it in years past. I'm glad to hear they are doing it again!! :D

Glad to hear you'll be trekking out to "our" Coast! :bounce:

Janet & I will be there. We were thinking of arriving the Saturday before. Since Disney has cut back on the number of events from the previous conventions(including the banquet), how about we plan some of our own. I was thinking along the lines of an Illuminations Cruise, Miniature Golf Outing,Character Breakfast,Disneyquest outing, evening at the Adventurers Club(that would be a real hoot with this crew) to name a few possibilities. What do you all think?
Chris

I've blocked out Saturday through the following Sunday for now since I have no idea what's happening with Discoveries and what not. What's the Illuminations Cruise? I play a mean game of miniature golf and you know I live for Disney's Character Dining! I've never been to DisneyQuest nor do I know what the Adventurer's Club is.

How about Cirque du Soleil? Is there a Disney Cruise before or after the event?

Don't remember where I saw the December 31 date, but I do remember seeing it. Will check my paperwork when I get home.

So looking forward to spending another week with everyone!

Shari

Shari,
The Illuminations cruise(which we haven't done yet) takes you from the Yacht & Beach Club(I think) on a cruise ending up by Epcot in time for the Reflections of Earth Show so you get a spectacular view of it.
The Adventurers Club on Pleasure Island is Disney at it's best. The setting is a 1930's club of explorers & adventurers who interact with the guests as you sit in a drawing room on sofas & chairs. There is a bar & periodically everyone is invited into the "library" for a wacky show. The club is decorated with artifacts & talking idols & mannequins who may just speak directly to you! You will take the oath to be inducted as a member of the club & learn the official song. It's a really fun time.
One thing that disappointed us about Disneyland's Downtown Disney was the fact there was no Adventure's Club or Comedy Warehouse.

Hi All!!

Many thoughts about the convention, but I'll hold off until after the holidays.

Private Illunanations viewing partys are fun too. As well as desinging your own backstage tour.

Mike and I are planning to be at WDW that week.

Lee and I will also be attending. I like the ieda of the private viewing for illuminations as you can get more people as opposed to the cruise as you can fit more people on that dock (the one between France and England. How about a progessive dinner in the different countries. I love the idea of the Adventureers club.
WAIT A MINUTE..........there's no time for the convention!

I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Hey Chris - all of that sounds like fun! How about Chef Mickey's for breakfast? I think I'll be ready for some napkin waving about then.

And Shari...you will LOVE the Adventurer's Club. We'll have to make you try the "Kungaloosh"...YUM! :D

I'll have to see if we can get down there any earlier - I may not be able to get that much time off from work (as we'll be driving to make it easier to haul all of our loot home) ;)

Mary is forcing me to attend. She had me in a head lock until I dialed Special Events. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. A progressive dinner - great idea, Mary! First stop - Mexico -for Fiesta Margaritas!

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

Cyn:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Jonie, I hear those go well with Kungaloosh!

Shari

I told Patti about all of this at lunch today (it's her birthday, we had some honorary napkin twirling for her!) I'm sure we can convince her to participate in some fun things too.

And, of course, a Chocolate Cherry Chunky Monkey chug-a-lug contest. And a pin scavenger hunt.

TAP & DAP will be there also.

Sounds like alot of fun beforehand also.

Interested in learning more about this special gift. I know you used to have to pay by March, is that still the same rule?

I'm pretty much in shock since I never thought it possible but it seems my DH wants to join us this year! (FYI, Judy, this should come as a great relief to you if I should (GOD FORBID!) still be a "biker chick" - no racing or I'll probably find an Orlando "BOOT" slapped on my wheel!)

Anyway, Illuminations private parties are fabulous and I'd love to have him experience the Adventurer's Club...you all gave him some terrific incentives for attending, THANKS!

Am thoroughly looking forward to seeing everyone again...

:D Jeanie...and the Guys

Wess and I will be attending this year together. We are definitely up for Breakfast at Chef Mickeys, margaritas, The Adventurers club and anything else. Hope to see you all soon.
