Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

Hoping to schedule in June 2012. When does the new classes come out.

I contacted the YES Program back in June about classes for 6 year olds in 2012. Here is the response I received:

"Thank you for your email! We do have a limited number of classes for your daughters age level and that attributes to the scarcity of offerings. The majority of our programs are for 8 to 15 year olds, which is why they have a lot of availability.

We will be releasing our dates for summer 2012 in February 2012, after we wrap up our January Home School Days event. Unfortunately, at this time I do not know what dates or programs will be offered.

Hope there will be something available for your family! We decided our next trip will be over spring break, so I think we are out of luck.

We have decided to go to Disney this October 9-15. The only class open for that week is one that my son would love, but it's only for ages 12-17. My son is 11 so he isn't old enough for that class.

What I was wondering is do they often add more classes at 45 days out and less or is that just wishful thinking on my part? Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. I booked DD in a class on 10/18. Now my mom and my niece might be joining us and I know my niece would love to do a class too but they are all closed for that week. I'm hoping that they will open something up that works for us. It would also be nice for them to get the discount on the tickets.

Just to update, I emailed them last Thursday morning and explained my situation. I asked if there was any way they could let me register my niece in the class with DD and get two more sets of park tickets. Later that day I got an email from someone at the conference center and he said he would forward my request to the Disney YES program and see what he could find out for me.

I got a call back today from him and he said that Disney had said I could register my niece but only my niece because the class was already overbooked. So DH will go with both girls, but that's no problem. He also modified my order while I was on the phone with him to add two more sets of park tickets at the discount price.

He was very helpful and very nice. I'm so happy they were able to work this out for us. My niece would have been disappointed not to get to go. Now the girls can do it together.

"I haven't looked into this for awhile and realized that they had changed some of the rules. I thought in the past you could buy as many tickets as you needed when you enrolled in the individual enrollment. It seems that now it is a 3 kid, 3 adult rule. If there are 3 kids and 6 adults, do we need to enroll each family separately? Example: enroll 1 kid with 2 adults in three separate transactions? Are there any downsides to doing this besides the class closing before getting all 3 kids enrolled?"

Here's my answer to a similar question a while back...my purchase was made on April 22, 2011.

When I purchased my tickets at the end of April, I had to make 2 seperate purchases, one for my family and one for my brother-in-law's family. My son and my nephew are taking the class, but I could not register my nephew because I am not his immediate family. So instead of me being able to purchase tickets for our entire group of 10 in one transaction, we had to make it 2 transactions, one for each family of 5. This worked out fine for us because each family had one adult and one child attending a class and then we could buy tickets for the remaining immediate family members.

If everyone in your group is an immediate family member to at least one of the children taking the class then you should be fine. The tickets are for the child, parents, & siblings only. This has been a gray area for some people, but my understanding is that you can not buy tickets for grandparents, aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, etc. And definitely not non-related friends.

I looked at the website and could only find a couple of things for a 5 year old and he is just missing that by 2 months?

We just got back from a how things move class. It was so much fun. My daughter had a great time doing it. We did have to leave the class a little early due to the class was running over time (late start) and we had a BBB appt. that morning. It was nice being in the park with it empty (but you couldn't take any pictures of the park ) The only thing that I saw that was not good was we had to wait in the Dumbo line to get on the ride, I figured being with a Disney "tour group" we would be able to go in the front. But it was a great experience and my DD actually paid a little bit of attention and got some of what was being taught to her and later found some magnet rocks that we had to buy cause she knew how they worked now

No, I have not ever seen any classes offered for under 5yrs and they are known to be strict on meeting age requirement. But it doesn't hurt to give a call to Yes Group to ask, you've got nothing to lose. Good luck

I asked this question further back in this thread a couple months ago and got just 1 answer but today my DW called and got a different answer.

Can someone who has stayed at a Epcot resort say for sure we can enter thru the International Gateway at around 8-8:15am and be escorted to the front to meet by the flagpole for the Ocean Discoveries class? We are staying at BCV and will not have a car to take around to the front of the park. I dont believe busses run to Epcot from Epcot resorts. The lady at the YES program on the phone said they would not allow us to go all the way thru to the front, we would have to find a ride around.

Hopefully someone here has done this and could help put our minds at ease.

Yep, us too were not asked. I think the OP should see the situation as glass half full, imho his chances are very good seeing that the child is just 2 months from 5. What I mention is what Yes site states and what some others here have earlier posted about experiences regarding age with Yes staff.

I've never done the classes but the IG entrance is open that early for people with pre-opening ADRs at Akershus so I don't see why they'd refuse to allow you to go the rest of the way through to meet your class.

I came on here tonight to ask the same question! I've been earning and saving Disney GC's and hope to use them when signing up for YES next year. (Along with paying for other expences) Has anyone done this?

This will be my first time going but I was told you cannot alter Y?ES tickets. for more oark days you would need to buy a new ticket.

We went from 7day yes tickets to 8. But it was a process. We had to resubmit everything all over again with 8days, then they cancelled our 7day tickets a couple days later. So for a few days we were out that extra chunk of money. But they were very helpful during the process.

Anyone know if the current list of classes is pretty solid or if they miight add more? The options in Dec are pretty slim and I would love for DS to have the opportunity to do this!

There is dec. classes?? I am surprised as i was told thst thrre would be no classes that month or even for november

They cannot be upgraded like regular tickets. Did you get the waterpark and more tickets...i believe that gives you more options
