Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

No, the date of your class doesn't matter. You put in your arrival and departure dates and tickets are good from 7 days before your arrival until 2 days after your departure.

Latest word directly from YES (I received a response today to my question e-mailed to them last week) is that the October homeschool add-on dates that are available for individual enrolment will not open for registration until July, possibly late July. I was hoping it would be sooner!

I've read that only direct family members can purchase discounted park tickets with a child participating in the YES program. Is this the case or can we purchase tickets for each person in the group? We have 3 children that can participate. There is one other child and a total of 6 adults that will need park tickets.

Those adults will need to be immidiate family to the children registering.

Thank you for your email! In early October we will be offering Home School Days participants a chance to sign-up for Individual Enrollment programs in addition to their speaker series! It is our hope to have these programs ready for registration by early July 2011.

In the meantime, we have added you to our update email list. As new information about our upcoming programs is released you will be one of the first to know!

I doubt the classes will be canceled. There is a minimum they need to do the class, but they don't close it until it get to their limit of participants.

When I purchased my tickets at the end of April, I had to make 2 seperate purchases, one for my family and one for my brother-in-law's family. My son and my nephew are taking the class, but I could not register my nephew because I am not his immediate family. So instead of me being able to purchase tickets for our entire group of 10 in one transaction, we had to make it 2 transactions, one for each family of 5. This worked out fine for us because each family had one adult and one child attending a class and then we could buy tickets for the remaining immediate family members.

If everyone in your group is an immediate family member to at least one of the children taking the class then you should be fine. The tickets are for the child, parents, & siblings only. This has been a gray area for some people, but my understanding is that you can not buy tickets for grandparents, aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, etc. And definitely not non-related friends.

I just bought regular tix thru Undercover Tourist before the price change took hold...I would save them for a future trip if I knew I could get my DD9 into a new YES class for this Fall...

The initial e-mail that I got had a typo referring to late February, so I replied for clarification and and she then indicated July for registration. I sent another e-mail asking did she mean early July or late July. The e-mail I received today indicated they hoped registration would open late July...I hope whomever e-mailed you is correct!

I have not heard that they are going to add any more (probably unlikely) but I am so focussed on October 7 that I could not say for certain. I have been stalking the YES site for weeks! I am anxious about registering because if the October 11 classes that are open fill prior to October 7 opening and for some reason October 7 fills too quickly, I am snookered!

Oh no, what's the negative with Wild By Nature? That's the class we are doing.

It's in this thread, just pretty far back (around pages 30-40 I think). People don't say the class by name they just say the "AK class" so it's hard to search for.

They said it was full of animal facts, and they rode the Safaris ride but without the plotline, just hearing more animal facts. They got a kerchief at the end as a souvenir, but most said it was dull and the animals weren't yet active.
