Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

Quick Question:

My understanding intially (and when I called to confirm) was that if you had a child in the YES program you could purchase tickets for all your immediate family (including grandparents); I have two nieces wanting to participate so my brother put the ticket purchase for his whole family, including grandparents. When the program contacted him they told him he could only purchase 1 addtional ticket per attendee... So he signed up my nephew also (who will now be attending the class even though he really wasn't that interested) so he could purchase at least 6 tickets at the reduced price.

Did I miss understand the program or was he given wrong information from Disney when they called him? He of course didn't really know any better and went ahead and ordered the 6 tickets rather than questioning...

When I called I swear the cast member said the whole family could purchase the tickets.

Help me understand...:confused3

I'm not new to Dis, but new to the YES program...I have just decided to take DD9 for a just us/mother-daughter short trip in October and would LOVE to enroll her in a YES class...will October be the open enrollment individuals or for groups only?

And does enrolling in YES mean that I need a room only reservation (never done that, only done packages- mostly with DDP.) AND if I get a room only reservation can I use a pin/code if WDW comes out with one for Oct?

Thanks for humoring my ?'s...I am a bit in the dark on how to go about making this happen...:goodvibes, but I'm excited!

There are dates in October for Individual Enrollment. Yes, You can use a pin/code for a room only reservation.

He should call back. There should not be any problem for him purchasing tickets for the additional family members. That is one difference between individual enrollment and group enrollment. Group enrollment is one adult per child. Individual enrollment does not limit the number of tickets per child.

There seems to be some who are confused at the YES office so keep calling until you get someone who understands. He should be able to add on the extra tickets that he needs.

If I already ordered the tickets for my son, could I call and add on tix for myself and my others on (his brother?)

Does anyone know if you can purchase 10 day YES passes anymore- I know online it goes up to 8 days.

Thanks! :)

I ordered ours online, three tickets, one for our daughter who is attending the class and two for us, the parents. Only one of us will be attending with her. I had no problem ordering all three tickets. Perhaps you or your brother could order online?

I also had sent an email prior to ordering regarding the number of tickets we could order and received a reply that I could order for child and both parents. I did not ask about others, i.e., grandparents, since none are attending with us.

I had to complete my order on the phone since I messed up filling out the form on-line and did not include my niece's age. When I called, the CM with the YES program asked who I was purchasing tickets for. My niece is the only one attending a class, and I bought 6 tickets that will be for my brother, SIL, 3 nieces, and my mom (niece's grandmother). She said that was fine and processed the order for me.

I think you/your brother needs to call and inquire again.

I just ordered my YES tickets and tried to get 10 day passes and the guy said they no longer offered 10 day tickets.

Others have said they have been able to add on tickets so I would call.

Everyone seems to be getting the same answer on this one- they are no longer offering the 10 day tickets but remember the 8 day premium includes 8 passes for Disney Quest and the Water Parks for a potential of 16 days (if you do them all on separate days).

how soon after you order do you get the tickets? I paid for express shipping and stil havent received them.

I'm confused - I was on the Disney site looking up YES program tickets and all I could see were up to 5 day tickets - nothing longer. And yet I've seen people on the boards posting about 8 or even 10 day tickets. Am I missing something somewhere?

Thanks!

When you actually go through the order process there will be an option to select up to an 8 day ticket. It isn't listied anywhere that I saw, like you, I only saw the five day. But when you place your actual order it is there.

And as for how long it takes to get the tickets with express shipping.. I think it was about 2-2.5 weeks for me.

Has anyone done Everyday Chemistry? I wanted some first hand information. Please share :)

I have discovered they use Test Track and Ellen's Energy Adventure for this class. My kids LOVE test track so that is a plus. We are looking at Everyday Chemistry Ocean Discovery or Captivating Memories. I have a 9 yr old a 12 yr old and a 17 yr old. So I am thinking i will send 17 yr old and Grandma to Captivating Memories and the little ones DH and I will go to Ocean Discoveries or Everyday Chemistry.
