well since Disney is cracking down on groups. I hope they have some open enrollment in late nov. early dec.

I got it too and went to the website no new dates are up yet  maybe Cliff jumped to soon emailing the notice out and someone hasn't hit the "go live" button for the website hehehehe

I'm thinking the email might have been talking about Disneyland.- They have Sept. dates open now, although just the end of Sept. I hoping DW will have some earlier Sept. days come up soon.

BUMMER!!!! I just emailed with interest in Nov. 2011 dates - here was the response:

Thank you for your interest in Individual Enrollment. Due to other events occurring in the theme parks, we are unable to offer Individual Enrollment in November and December. I have added you to our email list and as future dates become available you will be one of the first to know.

I am SO SO SO bummed! I just can't catch a break this trip. I made the mistake of doing a 10 day, no discounts on ANYthing trip (it was before I discovered these boards, before I knew about Pin Codes, before I knew about UT), once before, and I was hoping to be a little more thrifty this time around. (Don't get me wrong, the trip was FANTASTIC, just spendy!). We have a huge timeshare mess going on - so we are out a chunk of money there and now don't have our hotel covered as we thought, so have to come up with our hotel money (basically doubling our hotel costs). When I saw this program I knew my daughter would LOVE it, and it would help with park ticket costs.

Oh well.....I'll keep watching this board for pin codes & deals! Thank you for keeping the ideas coming!

I really like that time of year, MNSSHP, weather, maybe even Y.E.S. class, too....although last October was our first time ever to go! It just works out better for the kids/school, so if the stars and planets align....we'll get to go again before 2012....fingers are crossed:goodvibes

Well, we bumped out trip up several months and going during heat stroke season AKA July. A 2 bedroom opened up at OKW so we are going to jump on it. There were 68 units lists available for DVC today, but out of those 68 only 1 that fit our needs. I'm not taking any chances of one not being available in Oct.. though Oct is when I'd rather go! I guess I'll take what I can get an be perfectly happy!

I'm sorry :( I've always paid full price (or whatever promo they were running at the time.) What are Pin Codes and UT?

Sometimes you get lucky and get a PIN code via mail or email for certain deals. Sometimes the PIN may be for a gift card for a certain amount of money with your booking, for a hotel discount, free dining, etc.

UT = Undercover Tourist (website for getting Orlando/Disney tickets)

The last trip we took, I was able to get 40% off room for using my Disney Visa card.

To my knowledge the only way to get the dining plan with this program is to rent a reservation to stay at a DVC resort on points. DVC members can always add the dining plan to their reservations. We rent points for our stay, use YES tickets, and book dining plan.

I just got an email from Heidi yesterday: Heidi.E.Williams@disney.com

Good luck!

I've seen this talked about on different boards... If you go through DVC for your room, can you split up your stay in segments and get different dining plans for say part of your stay?

Ok, makes sense! I knew about UT, just not up to speed on that acronym :) I refuse to own credit cards, so I'm out for those discounts. Would that be where the email/mail containing codes would come from?

Yes, this is a new thing that was just added when they "upgraded" the system. They call it "segmenting" your reservation. However, I'm hearing it's rather confusing and not working really well. Lots of members are having to spend vacation time trying to sort things out.

The plan for us is to have the Dining plan the first day only (so we can get in a character dining for the kids) and then QS the rest of the week.. shouldn't be too hard to figure that one out! At least I hope not! LOL

YAY!!! :cool1: I just paid for the first part of our trip...8 day park hopper YES tickets! I told dh he needed to help me figure out our plans for sure (even though I won't know if I can get the extra week before the trip off until the end of April) and showed him my numerous spreadsheets. He said he'd rather go for 8 days than 6. We're going to go down on June 17th (provided I can get the extra time off) and stay someplace offsite. Then we'll switch to the AKV with dining plan for 5 nights. I am ridiculously excited. And I was so nervous pushing the button to purchase those tickets.

So I also got confirmation that there are no open enrollment dates in November or December. I spoke to a guy who was very helpful and told me that they are looking to have dates for open enrollment in October sometime between the 1st-17th but it won't be finalized til late April/early May..this doesn't help me at all because I own dvc and need to book my trip 7 months out which for October would be March:confused: oh well.

We were looking to go the week before thanksgiving week but if they had open enrollment at the end of october, I would have considered switching the dates.

Pretty bummed unless I could get a group of 10 together for the 13th-19th of November???any takers. I have 2 kids to contribute..ages 5 and 8 for the trip.

You can also do what we do when we book Free Dining and already have Annual Passes. We book the package with the minimum base ticket package. I think with FD it was a 2-day base pass but it still may be a 1-day pass when you are actually paying for the DDP. As long as you don't activate the passes on your room key they don't expire and you can upgrade them to a longer number of days once you do use them. Yeah, it adds more money to the reservation but it still may be cheaper than renting DVC points.

Read back a few pages in this thread, unfortunately it seems they are no longer accepting 'put together' groups :sad1: even if they set up a Facebook or web page type site; they are holding to groups being Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church or school affiliated, etc.

I feel you pain on booking, we're DVC members too & I find this booking / date announcement to be difficult to coordinate :faint:. Last summer we had our trip booked and luckily when Open Enrollment dates for August were posted there were classes at same time.

October dates for Homeschoolers are supposed to be coming out soon so maybe Open Enrollment dates could be announced earlier too.

Best wishes, hope the scheduling works out for you :goodvibes

Purchased YES tickets on January 28 and received them today! August seems sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo far away...:rolleyes1
