Thank you for posting the response you've received! :thumbsup2 I have also asked questions about this date and awhile back. It was mentioned they had/have an issue with the webstie looping back to last years information and it not being available yet. Which class are you looking at? Perhaps we'll see you? We're not 100% yet, however I did put a reservation on hold today at POFQ! :cool1:

Another question I had in case anyone has experienced this. We have one child attending and therefore the rules state only one parent can attend. Hmm..which one of us will go? :rotfl: Anyway, is this a hard and fast rule (which is fine if so) or have any of you guys had one child attend but two parents were able to go along? I'm trying to figure out our days and it appears likely one of us will have to stay back alone and then we'll have to meet up somewhere.

Heather

Not a problem :thumbsup2 . We are looking at the Disney's Wild by Nature. I believe that they will have a morning session and and afternoon session. I am interested in the afternoon because our flight gets in that day at 9:00 AM, so there will be time to make it and get in the knowledge that we need. :rotfl2::rotfl: Yes maybe we will see each other, that would be great!! We will be staying at OKW on our points three days before our cruise.

To answer your question, I think that you can pay an additional surcharge for the additional parent to attend. That way one of you will not be "alone" for a certain period of time. Someone can chime in and correct me if I am wrong. :). In our case, we will have our soon to be 3 year old so one of us will be with him. We haven't ironed out who that will be just yet, but I am guessing DH will get the honor of staying with him. Who knows at this point. Either way we will have an awesome time. :cool1:

DD8 and I are considering Energy and Waves, on February 7th. Is anyone else planning to attend that class? :goodvibes

Hi, this is the response that I got from the email that I sent to the representative about the June 14th course. I hope this helps. I will be adding the reminder date range to my phone so that I can remember. :thumbsup2

Hello!

We are excited that you will be joining us for our Open Enrollment program. Enrollment for June is not open yet. It should be opening in early 2011 (probably end of February or early March). Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you!

Thanks.
It's very misleading when the website lists June 14th individual enrollment programs and has buttons to "Sign up now". I know I emailed them also, so maybe they will have received enough feedback to fix the website.

You didn't happen to ask them about how many days you can get tickets, did you? I know the website only goes up to 5 day tickets, but I've heard reports of people saying you could add to the comment section and get longer tickets. But some people have said you can get 10 day, while others said the max they are doing now is 8.

Hi All,

I just ordered my tickets yesterday for the Wild by Nature class on Jan. 24. I checked off that class when I was ordering but, further down it asked who was attending the presentation...I think it said Big Cats but, don't quote me. I checked off that 2 ppl would be attending that. I'm confused about that presentation. Is that part of the Wild by Nature class? It was a presentation that was going to be at the Pochahontas Amphitheater. Did I do something wrong? I haven't gotten an email yet nor has has my credit card been charged. I'm sure it takes them a few days to go over orders and get back to people. Was just wondering if anyone here could tell me if I made a mistake somewhere.

Thanks!

I had called a couple of weeks ago regarding early August and the rep said they weren't available to sign up yet.

The African Cats presentation is part of Homeschool Days. Did you order those tickets? With Homeschool Days, I think each YES program class is an additional $26 or around that much. So if you signed up for Wild by Nature, then double check to see if you were charged more for the class, too. The presentation in the Pocahontas amphitheatre is different than the Wild by Nature class.

I also just got an email back and they said the same thing. She said they are working on updating the website.
They also said that you can buy tickets for up to 8 days.

I have been looking for an "excuse" to book a trip for DD (10) and me for February. Looks like this is the ticket! I wish the Hotel deals that were available for HS days were avail for Feb, but maybe a PIN will come my way. :wizard:

Thank you all for the useful info!

I've read through nearly this whole thread and if I am asking a question that was already answered, my apologies.:)

I have an 11 and 8 yr old, so
1) both DH and myself would have to be present for any class that they want to participate in, right?
2) can we sign up for y.e.s. tickets separate from a DDP?
3) can we reserve a site at FW separate from the y.e.s. registration?
4) if we got lucky and the stars aligned and we got a room only discount, can we book the room separate from the y.e.s.?
5) can we just bring snacks/drinks with us in case the kids need them?

Can't wait for the AK/EP classes!

HI! I will do what I can....

1. I was present for my 7 year olds class. Would they be together? If so then maybe only one of you?
2. I believe that DDP is available only with packages, and YES tickets are SEVERELY discounted, and therefore not available with packages. We rent points from DVC owners on the Rent/Trade board and that way we get great prices on beautiful resorts AND get the DDP.
3. See number 2 :thumbsup2
4. I believe so. I have only bought them as separate tickets, so room only would apply.
5. I have never brought drinks or snacks into the parks, so I can't really answer that one, sorry!

HAVE FUN!!

I wouldn't worry about not getting charged yet. I booked mine before Christmas and I spoke with someone today that said my CC wouldn't be charged until tomorrow. The people working for the program are really nice when you speak with them on the phone. They said they were backlogged due to the holidays.:thumbsup2

So, what is the youngest child that can be a part of this? I saw someone mentioned they were taking a child under 3 and I thought it was just for elementary, middle school and high school students. I have a friend whose child will be 3 when we go, but I had told her that her daughter was too young. The youngest age I saw listed on the program guide was a 5-8 year old one.

A friend will have her 3 year old. We are doing the wildcat program and were Tokd she could join us. Fwiw.

Okay, good to know. I knew they weren't strict on the age ranges, just didn't know they would let toddlers and preschoolers participate.

The Disney site has a room only deal up, though it's not as good as the HS days rate I got last January. It's better than nothing. The current offer is good through December 31, I think, then there's another one that starts after that but it's not as good. I think my rate for Pop was around $75/ night give or take a dollar or two.

HI! I will do what I can....

Thanks for the help! We kind of have our heart set on FW since our Airstream restoration should be pretty much done by then. :)
But if there's a room discount(though small for FW compared to the hotels) I'd like to be able to take advantage of it. We can do without the meal plan with the AS. So now we'll see which classes the girls would like to do and plan, plan, plan!

I will look into this as well as DVC rental.

Thank you! I just called twice and spoke to 2 different people there. One lady said yes, I would be charged extra for the African Cats class and the other said no, it was part of the Homeschool presentation. Needless to say, I am currently awaiting a phone call from Ashley! The last lady I talked to, Tina, said the homeschool class comes with one presentation. I thought the Wild by Nature class started at 10 a.m. but, she said it starts at 1 p.m. and goes til 4 p.m. The African Cats presentation starts at 10 a.m. Sheesh, talk about confused!

I know somewhere on this thread I saw an email address for more information. Can someone direct me to it or repost it? We are most definitely doing this in July!
