Disney Y.E.S. Program

Going to DW but have read a few times on this looong thread of tickets being mailed... it could have been yhr old system or the system for DL participants, but somehow was not quite sure, so I know when you are wondering...you should ask now and not learn the hard way later. There is so much experience on the boards and knowledge is power. KWIM?

If it does not apply to DW, I am good with that:thumbsup2

I thought about taking a photo because I did that with my photopasses and it helped.

What I am reading between the lines...I think:confused3 is that if it is lost they can reissue if needed.

Not that I want to have to do this, but for peace of mind...it would be nice to know.

Would not worry about it but I am usually the FPV so that means it would more like be me who could lose them. :rolleyes1

Nothing between the lines. Yes, they can be re-issued easily, as long as you have the right information. For ANY WDW ticket, the best thing is to have a copy of the ticket data which is a string of information printed at the bottom of the backside of the ticket (on a standard Tyvek "paper" ticket). You can do that with a photocopy or photo, or even write it down.

Are you doing the YES program at WDW or DLR? I thought that they no longer mail tix. to those doing YES at WDW.:confused3

I was asking about DLR. We are going to DLR (with YES tix) this year and WDW (a package) in 2013. I actually got my answer this morning. I received the tickets in the mail yesterday and I will be getting an email before our trip with information about classes, etc.

Ok, so I have a few questions.....

1. This seems like a great program, but why does Disney do it?

2. Can I pay for YES tickets with a Disney Gift Card?

3. What would happen if someone signed their child up for a program for the
last day of their vacation and just skipped it and went home? I mean they
would have already used the tickets they got right?

1. It's an educational program.
2. No the tickets are not issued through Disney.
3. They will charge your credit card for the full gate price if you do not show up. I also have read other members tell stories about how they will come after you in small claims court.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before: If we need to meet @ 7:45 am in front of the flagpole at Hollywood Studios ...do we need to take a taxi or will the shuttles be running that early to pick us up at our resort (POR) and get us to the gate in time. Somewhere in the fineprint it said, latecomers will not be welcome.

Just want to get there in time . Will the busses be up and running by 7 am?

Thanks:thumbsup2

Yes, buses will be running by 7:00. :thumbsup2

I'd like to know that ,also! Any snacks provided ? :)
No, they do not provide any snacks. We were given a few minutes to get a drink from the water fountain.

jcemom....Thanks for the quick answers...
I guess we'll be all set with the buses then !:thumbsup2 and maybe send a snack along since they won't have time for breakfast .:thumbsup2

You're welcome. I would give them something portable to eat on the way -- like a granola bar and a piece of fruit. We often eat our to-go breakfast on the way to the bus stop and/or while waiting for the bus. :goodvibes

I'm going to sign us up to do this for a Feb class but I'm having trouble figuring out who will attend with my children.

On this trip it will be me and DH, his mother, our 2 sons(who are taking the class) and my 9 month old. I really want to take the class with my children and DH instead of my mother in law and DH going with them. The schedule is not out yet for Feb but it looks like you meet outside the MK at 8:15am. I think the park opens at 9am.

Will they let me bring the baby to the program? Otherwise, either myself or my mother in law will be walking around the boring outside gates for 45 min. with a baby. I know there is nothing for the baby to do on the program but I imagine it will be way better for the caretaker to handle a baby that is atleast somewhat entertained, as in moving and seeing new sights as opposed to sitting outside the turnstiles.

Is there something else in the area outside the turnstiles that could be entertaining for 45 min till we can get into the park?

Hmmm just realized she could probably explore the Poly, or the other 2 hotels and maybe decide she likes it enough to stay there next time :thumbsup2 Sounds good to me!

They do not allow younger siblings to tag along, even if they are only babies. Your idea to explore the Poly is a good one. If you are staying onsite, MIL and baby can just stay in the room for a while and head to the MK later. Baby might also enjoy a boat ride over to the WL and/or Ft Wilderness and back. :goodvibes

Hi All,
We head to the "World" next week as part of a large group ... 135 (85 are students). We are registered for three classes and I'm just wondering what to expect?
Thanks :)

We leave in 26 days and I have our DS signed up for the Ocean Discoveries class. We have 4 day hopper/water park and more tickets. I am FREAKING out thinking somehow I screwed something up or am forgetting something...

Where can the tickets be picked up again? Is there a place at Downtown Disney to do so? I'd like to have them ready for our first park day???

Although not specifically advertised, yes, you can get them at least at the Guest Services at DisneyQuest on West Side, and I believe it is likely at the one at Marketplace as well.

You can also get them at any ticket booth or Guest Services at any of the parks and the TTC. At least one would be open in plenty of time for you to get the tickets before you need to meet for the class.

Does anyone here know if they run Y.E.S. classes in January? I'm looking for the span of 1/5-1/10/13 for individual enrollment.

They do have YES classes in January, however I do not believe they start that early. I'm pretty sure they will wait until after the New Years holiday and then the marathon before they start any classes.

1) Thank you wonderful Dis'ers, as I would never have known about YES if it were not for the budget board!!! :goodvibes::cool1:

2) With YES tickets, we have been able to change our plans, from 4 day non hopper one park tickets, to 8 day hopper tickets, for less than $100 more each!! :thumbsup2::yay:

3) My grandson, who is turning 7 less than a month before our trip, is totally stoked about going to 'school' at WDW!!:woohoo:

Now I hope that grandson number two, too young for a class, will have fun with Grandma and not be cranky, lol.;)

On another note, has anyone reviewed the 'Disney's Wild By Nature' class?? I wish I were going also, it sounds great!
