Disney Y.E.S. Program

Does anyone know what kind of proof of homeschooling Disney will need for homeschool days? I have one homeschooler and one in public school. Is the class fun? We have done one of the individual yes classes years ago, and the kids loved it.

No proof of homeschooling needed. In fact, unless they have changed things, they will tell you it's open to anyone. We did the homeschool event last Jan. (Engineering the Magic). I would consider it more like a show than a class. I thought it was entertaining, but my DS13 thought it was just "ok". We have also done two of the YES classes in the past and he seemed to enjoy them a little more.

ITA with this! We did HS Days last Oct. and they said it;s open to everyone. The presentation was an hour and my older kids thought it was just ok, younger ds was bored so we left during it and went for a walk. They liked the YES class they took better.:thumbsup2

I have some questions I hope someone can answer. I will admit I didn't read ALL pages here so maybe all of this has been answered before. If so, I'm sorry! So with the YES program, will our tickets be cards similar to the cards your receive when you purchase a package? Or are they paper tickets? Will we be able to get fastpasses and such? If we have a premium park hopper ticket, we should be able to use it just like a park hopper through a package (aside being limited with the water parks) right? Thanks!!!

The last 2 times we were there they were paper tix. I'll know in 4 days what kind we get this time :cool1:
They work in the Fp machines too!

You will get the tickets at one of the ticket booths outside the park. They are a different design than the ones you get with a package at the resorts, but they will likely be the new RFID cards and not the old tyvek tickets (unless, for some reason, they are still issuing YES tickets as tyvek, but I doubt it).

You will be able to get Fastpasses* with them, as always, either way.

The YES tickets function just like Magic Your Way tickets. If you get the Hoppers, you will be able to park hop. The only difference is that the Premium tickets minor park admissions don't match the major park days (and only apply to the water parks/DQ, not some of the other things WPFM will get you).

* The existing Fastpass system is still in place. However, the new Fastpass+ system is being worked on. No one really knows when it will be ready, when it will completely replace Fastpass, or how YES ticket guests will get access to pre-book FP+. I'm just adding the caveat that it could change in the future.

We have been able to use Yes Premium for all the same minor parks as wpfm tickets. They can be use at Wwos, mini golf and Oak Trails just like the other tickets. :-)

Oops...yes, you are correct. I thought they were more restricted.

Hmm...I was looking and they don't seem to tell you any longer what the number of minor admissions are...

They are actually the same as wpfm tickets. Just priced a little less. If you buy an 8 day premium you get 8 major park days and 8 minor park visits. I think some of this changed last year when the prices went up so they are not much cheaper than getting the tickets through Undercover Tourists. The real discount in theses tickets is only for children attending the class now. It used to be so much better for everyone.

Also I had thought when I signed up and paid online that it included mini-golf as an extra, but in my email it does not say that :(

Heh...the email says it's only good at the water parks/DQ, but the web site says the other things are good too...I'd say it not shocking that it is inconsistent, but I don't think Disney IT is involved with this one :)

Thank you everyone for your speedy responses. I love this board!

Question - I thought I read somewhere you could only pick them up/start using them so many days before your scheduled class. Is this true? If so, how many days?

The older two boys have class on Tuesday with arrival on Sunday, so that shouldn't be a problem. More worried about my DD whose only class option was on Friday.

When you buy them they ask for your arrival and departure date. ;)
You must pick them up before the day of your class.
I always pick them up the night we arrive at Guest Relations in DTD near DQ.

Hi everyone! We are about to sign up for a class during the last week of July. This will be our 3rd YES class. Even though the discounted tickets aren't the fantastic deal they used to be, I think the classes are still a great add-on to our vacation (my kids really enjoy them), and I'll take ANY discount I can to bring down our vacation bottom line.

Am I right in believing that the max # of tickets one can buy through the YES program now is 8 days? Or has anyone had a different experience?

Picked up our park tix. last night at DQ at DTD, they are Tyvek paper type ones, we were told we can trade them in for the other type if we wish.

Don't know if this is a YES ticket limitation or a DTD limitation...

Forgive me if it has already been answered, but I just couldn't search through almost 200 pages, lol.

If I take my 6yr old for the home school day in Oct, because it says all ages, can I sign up my 3yr old for it as well in order to get the discounted tix for all of us? (the two kids and 2 adults) just want to make sure I'm doing it right and don't get told we can't use them once we get there.

The YES tickets are tyvek no matter where you pick them up. They're what I consider the "regular" ticket media, as that's what we've received when purchasing MYW tickets from UCT, YES, Homeschool Days, and even Disney, if we bought them and had them mailed prior to our trip (not as part of a package). Our APs were tyvek, as are the MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets.

I don't understand why people seem to object to the tyvek tickets. We've never had a problem with them and they make a nice addition to the scrapbook after the trip is over. :thumbsup2
