Disney Y.E.S. Program

Are the new rules regarding individual YES tickets the same for groups? Only the student gets a discount? Our school usually goes in the fall. Is there a thread about new prices and rules?

If anyone is registered for the 2/13 wildlife class at AK, just a heads up it may be cancelled. I called today to have my kids switched into it and the operator told me there were only5 kids registered right now and she was going to cancel if there weren't more students registered. She talked me out of it because she also stated that our YES park tickets would also be refunded if the class was cancelled and we would have to purchase regular tickets. I didn't argue with her about the refund because I didn't have the info in front of me.posted my whole conversation on a separate thread on the theme park board before realizing I should have posted here.:confused3

Your post had me worried. My family and I are registered for the physics lab at the MK on 2/12 and I noticed that the class is still open on the YES website. I spoke with Dave Lehman at Student Guest Services Registration for Disney Youth Programs and he said that if Disney cancels the class D/T low enrollment, disney would try to place you into another age appropriate class. In the event that another class isn't an option, your tickets would still honored for the dates that you purchased them for. No worries for trying to figure out last minute ticket options. Good Vibes :)

I don't think I've seen a thread on the original classes.

Can someone help me with the ticket costs for individual Enrollment in YES? I thought in the past if you had one student, the entire group purchased tickets at the discounted rate. My son was going to do the marine class in June, so i would need tickets for him, my wife and I, plus 8 y/o daughter and 4 y/o daughter. When I went through sign up, his ticket was 208 for 4 days, but the rest were 300 or more. The total cost was 1400 something, which was only $100 less that if I just bought regular tickets. Did I do something wrong?

Sadly they have changed things things year :( We went in October and did the marine class...loved it!! We saved $700 on our tickets. I priced out going this year and we would only save around $100 now. I hate they changed it!!

We decided to take a taxi to the front of the park as we did not want to waste time trying to go through the IG and chance being turned away. The taxi fare from the Boardwalk to the front entrance was around $10 plus tip.

We did that class in October. I doubt they will let you through since the class starts before the park opens. You will have to meet the YES leaders and others at the front of the park.

Thanks for your help. I guess we will be taking a taxi to the front entrace.

I see on the Yes Individual Site the section under tips say:

Tickets are valid from 14 days of scheduled arrival date.

Before the tickets were always valid seven days before and seven days after your class. Has this changed?

This is important to me since the class we want to attend is actually 13 days after our arrival date and we thought the program wouldn't work for us since the tickets wouldn't be valid for the entire first week.

My kid's tickets were good for 7 days after our planned departure. MY ticket, as the required adult purchase was ONLY good for 14 days, basically a myw ticket with a discount.

We did the jan 25th yes program and all went great. My kids got a little bored at the end but it was still great. The biggest issue is you can't link your keys to the world card with your tickets so you have to go through the longer lines but besides that, would do it again in a heart beat!

So many other sites are saying that you should be able to. How did that work with the band? Did you get one for your tix, one for your room? Or did you stay at a room without the band.

We stayed at akv and did not have bands. Just kttk cards.

You can't link YES tickets to KTTW cards, only MYW tickets. The resort computers can't process YES tickets.

No one has the bands yet. How they will handle non-MYW tickets with those is not certain. It is believed there will be a way to do it, since they will be allowing offsite guests to purchase bands to use, but it is not certain that will apply to non-MYW (or AP) tickets.

I just booked the Exploring Disney's Animation History for my daughter for Aug. 27. She has been wanting to do one of these classes, but usually when we go in December they don't have them. She's so excited for this. Has anyone done this one? What did you think of it?

Hello,

I have emailed info@studentguest.com about this question but was hoping someone on here could give me a quick answer. We are planning on going in June for 10 days, but my girls want to do the Marine class. Is there any way to add on more days to the Max 8 you can buy with the classes?

Thank you!

You can not add on to the days, we tried. We're here at disney now and just got done doing the yes program. We use our 8th day today but you also get 8 days at disney quest and the water parks so I figured it was fine and honestly after 7 days of Disney we feel we got all of disney and more! Also you're not able to combine your tickets and put them on your hotel card so you'll have to carry all your paper tickets with you but it was worth it to us! Have Fun!!!

This far in advance you have a decent chance of it working. :) don't give up hope.

has anyone been successful in buying insurance (from like insuremytrip) for any of their WDW trips that include yest tickets? or had to use the insurance ? Did you get your money back?
I am still on the fence.. it would be a few hundred $ savings for our family, but the non refundable etc is making me scared..

I did last time - I looked at insuremytrip but I went with Amex (Silver level) - don't particularly remember why. But it also included a cruise, so it was more than just about the YES tickets :)

Fortunately I didn't have to use it. I don't think they cared whether they were YES tickets or not. They just wanted the total amount.

I'm sorry but I disagree with this. Is there a CHANCE they might be able to get 10 day tickets? Sure, there's always a chance. I would not call it a decent chance. The longest tickets they currently offer are 8 day tickets. If they only offer 8 day tickets come June, there is NO chance they will be able to get 10 day tickets. If they change the program, which happens, and decide to start offering 10 day tickets again, then they will be able to get 10 day tickets. ;)
