Disney World's single biggest tourist market is.....New Jersey?

Another Jersey girl here. We go to Disney every July so I have some time to wait!

The funny thing was when we were at the GF this past July one of the CMs told me if it wasn't for NJ and NY the GF would never be full! He said almost everyone who stays there is either from NJ or NY. Do we have good taste or what?

More Jersey folk here!! Actually, originally from Staten Island, NY but made the hop over the bridge like so many others and call Jersey our home now for over five years!!! (Between 8A and 9 to be exact!) A great place to live and raise your kids.......and just a little closer to our favorite place in the world!!!!!

I'm all for a discount....... :cheer2:

Jersey does rock and I think its awesome!!! Taylor pork roll and egg in the morning, only in New Jersey and I agree I think NJ should get a special resident rate like FL!!! It is true no matter what time of year I go down there is always always people from NJ there.

Have a nice day! :cool1:

Thanks for reminding me of pork roll sandwichs. We use to live just across the river from Trenton and would go to the Jersey shore each and every summer. I use to love those sandwiches. Also cannot get a good susage sandwich anywhere except the Jersey Shore.

And I think all of us who live in Jersey and would oh so appreciate a discount should point out to all of those accountant types looking at the bottom line just how MANY, MANY of our Jersey neighbors who sadly haven't been able to fit Disney in their budgets would be able to make the trip with a NJ resident discount. Totally a win/win situation, don'tcha think???!!! :rolleyes1

Exit 4 (but when looking for the Giants somehow we always find the Eagles :confused3 )

Checking in from Garden State Parkway, exit ZERO! Last time we were there the CM's weren't asking 'where are you from', they were asking 'What part of Jersey are you from'. :earboy2:

Another Jersey guy checking in. Was born in Jersey (Whippany), but left when I was 4. Now, 26 years later I finally moved back with my own family. And even moved only 10 miles from where I was born. Also, I had my second child here, just like my parents had me. The world really is a cyclical place.

Oh, and I'm making my kids Disney addicts, just like my parents did to me. But that isn't difficult, is it fellow DISer's?

Go Jersey! :cool1:

I was born in Phila, but lived in Jersey for 4 years after i got married. My 3 daughters were born there. Way down south, at the base of the DE Mem bridge. Last exit before you cross. But we are still Jersians at heart. THink that counts? :rotfl:

Last trip took Keys to Kingdom tour and more than half of our tour group of about 16 were from NJ! Cast member said "Is the whole state here???" pirate:

Count us in! Leaving tomorrow - we gotta plug that discount!!!! :goodvibes

Exit 105 on the GSP. When we were there in Aug we went with two other Jersey families and met a number of people from NJ

Where is the petition?

Hello fellow Jerseyans! I always knew there was something extra special about going to WDW during Jersey Week! I was there last year during that week with my DGDs, but this year, it's a trip for just DH and me. We're heading down to see the Mouse Oct 13-24. In fact, just today my AAA agent called to tell me our package is ready - heading to the office in Clark later this afternoon to pick it up!
PS...were all of you aware that there are only TWO states in the entire USA where the patrons do not have to pump (nor are they allowed to) pump their own gasoline? New Jersey and Oregon! So far, I have never been in Oregon, but I just love Jersey and all that the Garden State has to offer!
(I live closer to the Parkway (exit 137) than the Turnpike...LOL)

Hi there! We're practically neighbors! I live in Clark (Good ol' exit 135)
We're going Nov 5-13 (Jersey week of course!!)
Have a great trip!

I wondered where my mother picked that up - she grew up in one of the Oranges... but moved me to Long Island when I was a baby. NOBODY else I know knows about Taylor pork roll!!!!!!

I agree! Even when I lived in Manhattan for 4 years (for school) I couldn't believe they didn't know what pork roll was!! It's only 30 miles away for crying out loud!!

Is Jersey the only state that sells pork roll??? (Now I have to go home and look at the Taylor Ham box to see where it is made.)

Jerseyans --

In case any of you weren't aware, JetBlue is now flying to Orlando out of Newark Airport. We got a good fare of $140 round trip, which is way better than we ever got out of Newark before. Last time we flew out of Philly.

Cheaper airfares mean I can stay at better places like GF with my Jersey buddies!

Here's a slight twist on the theme...A few weeks back I called Disney to book the Segway and KTTK tours. The CM starts taking my information. As soon as I said I'm from New Brunswick, she mentions she was from South River. (For those of you not familiar, NB and SR are ~5 miles apart.) Her family still lives there. Turns out, she knew most of my family who live in SR. It's a small world after all.

I've only ever seen it sold here in NJ. There are actually other brands of pork roll sold in NJ, but everyone buys Taylor Ham! My b-i-l moved to FL years ago. When they come up for a visit they always take home pork roll and hard rolls!
My friend in California is a caterer for the movie business. When the movie about NJ was being filmed, they approached my friend about getting a pork roll to use as a prop. She called me to ask if I ever heard of it....LOL Long story short: I supplied the Taylor Ham (shipped overnight refrigerator express - yikes was that expensive!!!) and my name is in the credits as Pork Roll Gaffer...my claim to fame.... :cool1:

Its been that way for years now. I've read it before and many cast members have said it on our many trips to the world. Hey, maybe diz should give us jersey folks discounted rates during certain times of the year for our support!!
Even dreams come true!!! LOL!!

I agree with this! :teeth:

Another Jersey girl here! I just came back from a trip this August and I'll be going again in January!

Way to go NJ!

Hmmm... :scratchin although that could be why I've never gotten a pin code...they know I'll be coming anyway... ;)
