Disney World's single biggest tourist market is.....New Jersey?

There's nothing like being from NJ! LBI here! Always miss the pork roll (I've brought it home on a plane before!), Tastykakes, hoagies, Cheese steaks and pizza. And LBI's beaches are still the most beautiful to me! Being from the Island, we didn't say ''down the shore"--we went ''to the beach''. Hoping to skip WDW someday and return! ;)

No, it's hoagies, not subs. And jimmies, not sprinkles....

Mary (exit 1)
:cheer2: :cheer2: GO JERSEY!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Grew up near LBI, now live in Medford -- love it! Summers in Stone Harbor.

Last visit to WDW met 2 people we know.

This coming visit, someone I know from Scouts will be there the same week (NOT Jersey Week)! See "you guys" in WDW!

My distant relative always load up on TastyKakes when they visit.

And it is hoagies...not subs; jimmies, not sprinkles; sneakers, not tennis shoes; down the shore, not the beach.....

Philly native here, living right next to Atlantic City for the past 7 years.

In Philly and environs it's a hoagie. HOWEVER, in Atlantic City and its immediate surroundings it's a sub.

I'm SOOO happy to have good subs here. I moved from Philly to Cleveland 10 years ago, and the best hoagie/sub I could get in Cleveland was at SUBWAY! Yuk! Beggars can't be choosers.

The garden state does rock. Right after my taylor ham breakfast, I'm hopping in the Camaro with my big-haired wife and heading to LBI for chowdafest weekend. Exit 63 here we come, WDW here we come in for NYE.

I have lived in Union County NJ all my life. I agree with all...except, up here, they are subs...we have great sub shops (NOT chains like Subway or Quiznos...gag) in every town! I've never called 'em hoagies.

Mmm, nothing like a taylor ham sandwich. :cool1:

My DH is from NYC originally and he doesn't get taylor ham at all, thinks it's weird. When we were dating for a few months I made him move to NJ from Brooklyn. I have my priorities. :)

And maybe I'm weird, but sandwiches were always heros or subs in my neighborhood, never hoagies.

I'm between 14A and 14B. Funny story about that...we went on a group cruise last year and had to wear laminated name tags for the group activities. In the space where you're supposed to put where you're from, I put my "exit" on mine. I figured either people would get the joke and figure I was from Jersey, and then would stop asking me, "what exit?". DH, who actually designed the tags, made a typo and put down 13A. I don't know what was more scary, the amount of poople that got the joke, or the amount that asked me if I lived near IKEA. :rotfl:

I love Jersey. :)

Another born and bred Jersey girl here, leaving tomorrow for another glorious week in WDW!!!!

Go Jersey!!!

Hi ladysoleil,

I'm originally from Newark and can relate to heros and subs. Now, we live in the southern half of The Garden State and people down here relate more to Phillie than NY, hence the tie to hoagies and (even though it's not Jersey born) "cheese steaks wit".

:cool1: Jersey ROCKS! :cool1:

I was thinking that it must be a northern/southern Jersey thing.....Always lived in South Jersey, and it's always been hoagies here.

South Jersey is also where I became addicted to warm, soft pretzels with mustard (YUM) and a cold Yuengling!

NJTPKE Exit 5

As someone you travels to WDW the first week in November each year I can sure believe that NJ has the most visitors to WDW. DS has this week off of school and it seems like all the schools in NJ have the same week off and it seems like we are the only people there that are not from Jersey.

Hey Wendah-

I know you! My husband wants to know why you're not camping this weekend! He says it's still camping even if you're not allowed to have a campfire-well, not really.

This coming visit, someone I know from Scouts will be there the same week (NOT Jersey Week)! See "you guys" in WDW!

We have our countdown calendar on the wall, waiting for December. I do hope we can get together.

You'll have to tell me sometime how you got the countdown ticker on your signature. I still can't figure that out.

Now, if we can only ban together and force WDW to establish a New Jersey Residents discount rate. Nothing less than the Florida Residents rate thank you. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I will gladly jump on that bandwagon!

Anybody have any thoughts on where the geographical dividing line is for the hoagies or subs debate?

Exit 4 - most definately hoagies (and wooder ice!)
::MinnieMo

Another Jersey girl from between 8A & 9 here. And it's definitely subs at our exits - not Subway either. And we and my sisters with families (Exit 7 &GSP Exit 105) will be at DW for Jersey week too. Flying out of Phillie so we don't have to pay $1,000 round trip air fair!! :rotfl:

We do have to go "down the shore" in the summer!!

It's Subs here too on GSP exit 137 and Turnpike exit 9. It's also sprinkles- don't know where the jimmies came from.

It's always seemed to me that the divide is somewhere in Ocean county. Jersey south of there is like a whole nother state (likely due to the Phlly influence). You know, the people in the 609 area code are just a little "different." :earboy2:

I can't belive there are Jersey folks using the very Philly "cheese steak with." FOR SHAME!!! :faint:

::MickeyMo I went to Bridgewater Mall and was getting an ice cream. The guy in front of me asked the girl for a vanilla cone with jimmies. She just stared at him because she had no idea what jimmies were and worse yet, he didn't know what else to call them! I felt so bad. Good thing I knew and could translate. I haven't heard sprinkled called jimmies in forever. ::MinnieMo
