That is, it is air that rises and rotates around a vertical axis, usually in the same direction as low pressure systems in a given hemisphere." one of them havs 0.25in hail

I didn't like watching the news point out rotating clouds 2miles SW of my apartment (moving between Disney and here). eep. But the danger seems to be mostly gone in this area.

You know, reading this at 11p at night, after going through this all day.. I am shocked we did not have a touch down in my neighborhood.

I opened the windows about 12p this afternoon, to let in the breeze, that soon turned into MAJOR gusts. The sky was very nasty, and was swirling. I am deathly afraid of tornados, so I was paranoid. It did die down, only to pick up again a few hours later.

Good thing, my car is clean now...driving rains cleaned my car!

My kids were over at mgm all day and just said it rained off and on, not a big deal.

That's how a tornado works....if it does not touch down where you are standing it is not a big deal. If it does touch down where you are then it is a big deal.

The warning is issued when the conditions for a tornado are perfect. We had a small one touch down on the road behind our house a few years ago. We had no power for 4 days.

YOU know, we were oblivious to the fact that there was a tornado warning. We were at AK park and on the way from ttbab, to f of lk. Got the rain cover on the stroller and hoped for no rain but before we made it in it started to rain and the wind picked up but still not so bad. We got in th FofLK and you could hear thunder rumbling, but again no warning of a tornado activity possible in the area. We got our of FofLK and there were some branches down and workers cleaning up. Whatever went on when we were indoors being oblivious must have scare the bejeepers out of people because the park was empty the rest of the day. No lines at all.
