On Tuesday, our third day of the trip we headed to Islands of Adventure. We arrived about 10:30 at the parking garage (I was surprised to see that Universal was charging $8 when Disney was only charging $6). Anyway, we walked to the main entrance for IOA and stood in line to buy tickets. We had bought our hopper tickets for Disney online but couldn't find any real deals for IOA so we decided to buy them at the entrance since we had a coupon that gave us CityWalk Party Passes for free with our admission to IOA.
We did pretty much everything at IOA and got soaked on all the water rides. It was a nice day too, not too hot, in fact, we were all a little chilled towards the end of the day from being drenced (and I mean drenched) over and over again on the water rides. The park closed at 7:00 (pretty early I thought) but we were ok with that since we had ridden evrything.
After the park, my sister's boyfriend was determined to go to some las vegas style buffett he had seen on 192 (yuck!---I don't know what is up with this guy's tast in food) so he and my sister and their kids went on their way. Me, my partner, and my mom and step dad decided to try Emeril's.
The food was farily expensive ($30-$40 entrees) and it was reasonably good, but I was still thinking about how Jiko was better the night before. The one complaint that I had was about our server. He was not very friendly and I felt like he was really rushing us. Although, I do have to give him credit for suggesting a great wine that went perfectly with our meal.
Over all, I thought IOA was great. Great themeing in the park and great rides. In my opinion, Spiderman, hands down, is one of the best rides ever created.
After our dinner at Emeril's we called it a night as we were all beat and waterlogged and not really up to use the CityWalk passes that we got for free. I still have 4 unused CityWalk passes. Does anyone know, are they good forever? I can't see anything on the tickets. I was thinking about auctioning them off for a few bucks on ebay but I don't want to unless I am sure they will be valid for anyone who purchases them.
