They are significantly better IF the headliners aren’t dealing with operational issues.
We got a few rides in on Cosmic Rewind in under 40m, and then somebody (not sure person or service animal?) had a bowel movement outside the doors leaving the second pre-show, line got craaaazy long, briefly shut down (I think?) and stayed above 50 for the next hour or so.
Same here. I remember years ago, they had an after-hours event and it only cost less than $15. And more importantly I could stay awake for it. Nowadays, realistically, although I think about going to one, I know I'd be too tired.

It is much cheaper to buy the LL, ride what you during the day, and go to bed at a decent hour. I don't even bother with MM and that is free. I did the MNSSHP this month and left after the parade as it was more crowded than the park in the daytime.
Although I've enjoyed the after hours event I've done in the past at Magic Kingdom, it does tend to mess up two days of the vacation. The day of the event, we have to ensure we have a chill morning/afternoon that includes a nap so we can stay awake for the late hours. Then the next day we are too tired after the event to do any rope drop, so it messes that up too. I was initially interested when I saw the dates and that we'd be there for two of the after hours events, but I'm having trouble making it make sense for us.
