we may be making a trip to CA this summer & have days left on our WDW passes. Are they transferrable? Thanks!

Also, how many days would you suggest staying @ DL? We will try to see alot of Southern CA.

Your passes are transferable, but if you are considereing a WDW trip in the future I would hold off on using them for DL. I've never done it, but I hear you actually lose money in the long run.

I would stay at DL for three days, maybe four if you're going during a peak time. Try and get down to San Diego if you can. We have the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and the Wild Animal Park. Have fun planning!!!

We went to DL and San Diego during April 2 years ago. We flew into LAX, checked into our hotel in Anaheim and enjoyed DL and DCA until it closed. The next day we returned to both parks, and on the third day we went to Universal Studios, Ca. which we really loved. On the morning of the forth day, we headed down towards San Diego stopping in Escondido for a day at the Animal Park. Onto the Hotel Del Coronado for two nights, enjoying the town, the surrey bikes and then to the Marriott Resort and Marina. From there we visited Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Old Towne, La Jolla and the beach. On the last day we drove back towards LA, stopping at Downtown Disney, went to the movies, had dinner and caught our red eye back to the east coast. It wa a blast. The kids had a great time. I would do it again.

I've been to DL twice recently and Melissa is right I really think you need 3 days there. It takes two days to see Disneyland well and an extra day for the California Adventure Park.
I've never been to WDW but I understand that their admission prices are higher than DL and so if you choose to use your passes in California, you are "spending" more to get in than if you just bought DL passes.
I haven't been to San Diego in years but I remember the Wild Animal Park was wonderful!!! In some ways, I liked it even more than the Zoo! I remember that they offered a photo safari that looked like a great thing to do and I thought if I ever went back that I'd book it! They take you around in a jeep with a bucket of apples and carrots and take you into the habitats to take photos of the animals up close. Some animals even follow the truck to get fed those apples and carrots -kind of the zoo version of an icecream truck!!!:p

We just did a San Diego/DL vacation in December. We stayed 3 nights in San Diego and 4 nights at Paradise Pier in DL. I didn't realize WDW tickets were transferable but I would think you'd lose $ since WDW is so much bigger than DL. We got 2 day park hopper passes at the hotel that worked great for us. We walked from our hotel thru DTD into MK and DCA. We felt 2 days in the parks was enough. The rest of our stay was spent in DTD. It's an easy drive from San Diego to Anaheim. We did it in just over an hour. We would have stayed in San Diego the entire trip but DL was running a special at their hotels (stay 4 night/pay for 3) so it was a lot cheaper to just stay at DL rather than drive up from San Diego. We also did the zoo and several of the museums in Balboa park.
