Disney World Over Memorial Day?!

Thanks to the US Army we had to change plans for our May trip. My son in laws leave from Iraq was changed. We were going to travel May 1 thru May 16 and we now are going from May 13 thru June 1st. It will be his first trip to disney world and we figured it would be a great spot for his R&R! He is extreemly excited and so happy he gets to meet us there!
We were able to change our room reservations, and am not sure how we will do with dining, but hopefully o.k. I know he is looking forward to some good meals!
What should we expect crowd wise? This is only our second trip to the world and the last trip was in Sept.
I would imagine Memorial weekend would be quite crowded! Do the resorts or parks have any special events for memorial day?

We were at WDW for Memorial day weekend a few times, and it's always been hot and crowded, but we're going back this year too as part of a DCL cruise stay.

The Fifth Dimension are the Flower Power Concert performers that weekend.

I seem to remember some celebration at the MK...but it's been awhile and most of the time we are going home on Memorial day.

We are also going Memorial Day weekend and into the week following! Yesterday I tried to change our reservation, and all the studios on property (except at SSR) are booked!!! I think it should be pretty busy!!

We have been on Memorial Day weekend several times and thought the crowds were not bad. WDW is busy, just not as busy as summer or spring break.

Don't forget that DHS will be extra busy with the Star Wars Weekends.

Memorial Day weekend itself will be pretty busy. The time before and after aren't bad at all from my experience.

We will be arriving on the 21st. I have tried to get a studio booked for that day and have had no luck. We will most likely end up staying at a Value. We are staying from the 22nd to the 29th at AKV -Kidani. We have never stayed Memorial Day weekend but we are looking forward to it. We have gone in April and it has been very hot and humid. Looking forward to seeing the Flowers at EPCOT again.

I'm sure we will all enjoy it no matter how crowded it is.

We usually head down right before Memorial Day and leave by then. The weather is warm to hot and the only crowd problem we found was at MK, which we expected. Overall, the crowd volume was good.

Didn't know the 5th dimension was going o be there, too cool! Sounds like a lot of fun!
