Disney World is BROKEN!

My question is - if your vacation is so bad why in the world do you continue to return? Why spend your money someplace so insane?

Seems like a nice quite beach may be more in order.

Actually there are several regular posters on this board who aren't planning to return. They've stated several times they they're going to Disneyland instead or going on a cruise or "never going back!"

They just hang out on this trip planning board to complain and air their grievances... and presumably warn others against planning trips of their own. :lmao:

Nice spin, you could get a job here, http://careers.foxnews.com/

How long does that logic last. If a place sucks so much, wouldn't word get around sooner or later? Or did Disney break just within the past 48 hours?

That's what I was wondering because I hadn't heard anything about this
I called Guest Services last night and they told me WDW wasn't broken and they had no idea what I was talking about :confused3 ...in fact I think the rep thought I was a nut
She kept asking if I was referring to a specific attraction and I'm like "no the whole WDW" and she's like "no that's absurd, it doesn't even make sense" :scratchin

It depends on which GR rep you talk to. They generally give different answers. ;)

Or, perhaps, they are hoping that Disney PR really does patrol these boards, and perhaps respond to negative feedback with positive changes.

You've answered your own question, so to speak.

If fewer people feel the need to be at rope drop, then entire queuing process is less clogged throughout the day.

FP+, therefore IMHO, equalizes the entire process.

No longer do people need to arrive at Parks early in order to maximize ride participation. FP+ can have a greater tendency to smooth the logjams that occur between 12pm-3pm, because the logjams will just be fewer. The only exception appears to be Toy Story.

Matter of fact, for those of us who only spend 4-6 hours in the Parks, FP+ has allowed us the opportunity to enjoy ourselves at a far more leisurely pace.

For instance, we can enjoy a character meal for breakfast instead of feeling guilty about missing Park time. We can now do more at Disney because we are not married to the rope drop at all cost commando-style to maximize ride participation.

Lastly, and I rarely see anyone speak to it - FP+ allows those people who travel more opportunity to ride 'E' attractions on travel days. If you arrive at 3pm, you can also have a Toy Story FP+ for this day, the same is true for the day you leave - schedule a FP+ for those few hours before heading to an airport.

FP+ has made our experience far better.

You're correct. You no longer need to arrive at rope drop for FP participation. However, if you have children that want to ride the same headliner attractions multiple times, and don't give a rat's patootie about character interaction or ambiance, or the pretty flowers, you still need to arrive at rope drop for RIDE participation.

So if you're planning a trip to a new destination and utilize information on a website devoted to travelers to said destination, you wish the website solely to be filled with kudos and atta boys for the destination, kinda like a pep rally? Does this make you feel like a travel planning genius?

Myself, I appreciate lots of differing viewpoints, hopefully resulting in my ability to be able to discern what our family might like/dislike about a destination and it's amenities, whether we should plan a visit and what we definitely want to do while we're there.

If the zealots are so darn sure WDW is practically perfect in every way, why do you care what anyone else thinks? Goodness, why need a discussion board at all? Simply log on one of the many WDW social media outlets and :thumbsup2 and pixiedust: and :cheer2: on and on 24/7. I've been visting WDW since '72, before it was even a year old. It doesn't appeal to us for now. I'm really hoping they make a course correction soon. If not, there's 4 less people standing in the lines.

Even if that we're true there's just as many people providing positive feedback. No matter how much negative volume you post regarding FP+...your vote only counts once.

As does yours. The last poll I saw here in this forum, however, was running about 70/30 in favor of disapproval.

Hoop de doo...that's because the disapprovers are the same group of 30-40 posters who are obsessed with "crying in their beer" instead of getting on with their lives. Disapprove or not this is the future and a micro-fraction of guests posting on Disney forums isn't going to drive any major changes in Disney's strategy regarding FP+.

I, too, have been to WDW multiple times and yes, the crowds are growing. But...it is growing exponentially with the USA population AND the ease of international travel.

I agree that this new style of anal planning has taken a LOT out of the fun we once had. But...I don't see the crowds getting smaller in the near future.

UNLESS.. Disney would build a park in Brazil. They have one in Paris, HongKong etc etc, so why not build one in Brazil where there is an obvious love of Disney?

While I don't see crowds lessening, I do predict fewer people buying annual passes.

And some regular posters *gasp* actually have admitted to only coming here for the drama.

I keep hoping to pop in here on any given day and find the Disney has come to their senses and made some changes I can be excited about. I'm sure when that happens, I'll read about it here first. And I also like to pop into a lot of non-FP+ threads to offer advice about seeing shows and meeting characters based on our many years of enjoying that ourselves.

Wouldn't they be better off writing to Disney directly, then? This is like standing on a street corner shouting at random passersby, hoping someone who can actually do something about your problems wanders by.

Hardly. I expect to find a website with ACTUAL travellers to said destination, with ACTUAL experience travelling to said destination (or alternatively, people with actual plans to visit). Not people who went awhile ago, back when it was different, and who now have no intention of ever returning.

"I went last month, tried FP+ and here's why it didn't work for me, and here's what you need to do to work around it," is useful.

"Disney World is BROKEN!" maybe not so much. ;)

Myself, I appreciate lots of differing viewpoints, hopefully resulting in my ability to be able to discern what our family might like/dislike about a destination and it's amenities, whether we should plan a visit and what we definitely want to do while we're there.

How does a poster who hasn't tried FP+ announcing to all and sundry that he's sworn off any future Disney World vacations based on something he's read about it, help you discern anything?

Oh, I'm a zealot now? I don't ever recall saying Disney is "practically perfect in every way". Only that I enjoyed my last trip, am looking forward to my next, and I believe there are ways to work with the new system in order to make the most of your vacation. I like focussing on solutions (which can include going to other vacation destinations instead).

I think of it this way:

Pakistan doesn't appeal to me. My mum worked and lived there for years, so I've got a pretty good idea of why exactly it doesn't appeal, despite never having set foot in the country myself. I don't need to visit right now to know that until they make a course correction, I won't be going over there.

Do I hang out on Pakistani travel boards, to tell everyone this? Day after day after day... No. Why would I? I'm not planning to go to Pakistan, and as such, I don't feel I have much of value to offer people who are going.

It's not as if I expect the Pakistani government is reading their travel boards and will make policy changes based on my negative feedback, after all.

Peace! :hippie:

Somehow I read your entire post in the Prospector's voice... :rotfl:

Interesting analogy.

I think of it this way. There are whole areas of the Disboards that I don't enjoy and frankly, that annoy me.

But I don't go into those threads and start saying that everyone in there should stop posting. Post away! I can read a title and figure out that I'm not interested.

If people see a thread with a title that they disagree with, then just skip over it.

Universal makes more money off of Butterbeer than Express Pass. Just sayin'.
Direct sales, I'd believe. If you include the contribution that the three top hotels provide? Doubtful. Those hotels probably can't charge anywhere near what they do without Unlimited Express as a perk.

It just sounds like you are angry because other people are going to the park as well...?

I just talked to my financial advisor who said Disney stock is just listed as a strong buy. Wall Street must not be too concerned.
