Hi,

I'm planning for our trip to DW this December. The park will be closed by 7:00pm. Too early for us. What else should we do after that? We have two children 8 and 5.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Hi,

The MK may close at 7 some nights, but Epcot and the Studios will be open later than the MK.

Well you could always go to Down Town Disney, or go to the Boardwalk on those nights. Or get a late dinner show somewhere, or Circ De Sole, or however you spell it!!!

We've gone in early December many times, and Epcot is always open until 9 or 9:30PM. DTD is open until 11pm or later. And I know that we were in DHS after 8pm at least one night, and caught EMH one night at AK (they were open until 9 or 10pm). I can't imagine that you couldn't find enough to do in the evenings.

We went in December when MK and AK closed early. We had dinner, went back to the resort and put our feet up to save them for the next day.

Great time to schedule ADR! Also a good time to visit other resorts while at your ADR. Shopping DTD...Fort Wilderness has a movie with Chip and Dale. It's outside and there's a campfire, we love it. Oh and they also sell smore kits. Pleasure Island has a movie theater...I have been known to check my kid into a Child Activity Center, usually the one at BC, and head over to Epcot or DHS for some adult time with out guilt.

We loved the arcades at YC and CBR when we stayed there. Don't know where you are staying but I imagine all the resorts have them. Then grab a late dessert and explore your resort at night. We also enjoy the Boardwalk at night with all the street performers and games. Grab an ice cream or some taffy at the sweet shop. And there is an arcade at ESPN (can you tell that DH and I love our games :lmao: ).

And all the christmas decs will be up so go check those out - especially at the GF and the other deluxes. I've heard of some really cool things there.

Have fun - the evenings during off season can be really relaxing and fun!

Did you look on WDW site for all the park hours? We are going Dec. 5-12. I put together a spreadsheet of all the times the different parks will be open. I am glad that I put it together on a spreadsheet so that I know that MK closes one night due to MVMCP and that Epcot is open until 9:30pm. If you are there over the weekend MK is open longer. DTD is always open till 11 too. If you want to take a look at my spreadsheet just PM me with your email and I will send it to you!

Hi WisconsinDisneyGirl,
I couldn't PM you because I only posted 3 times. I didn't know that in order to PM to someone you had to post 10 or more times. I couldn't even post my email address in my post???
Thank you very much,
Lynn.

I agree with the mini golf. Winter Summerland is our favorite and it fits right in with the holiday. Play both sides for extra fun and they always seem to give a price break if you do both courses in one night. The winter side is "prepping for Christmas" and the Summer side is "the elves off-season".

I'm surprised no one else mentioned all of the cool activities at DTD Marketplace for December. It's the one place that feels so much like Christmas! They have a Santa there and they have set up an ice rink in past years for skating! I've also heard Carollers there and other evening entertainment.

Boardwalk is always fun in the evening, too.

Make sure you do visit all of the resorts to see their holiday decor. The gingerbread house in the GF is not to be missed - we have brought home cookies for keepsake ornaments for our tree in past years. The chocolate and gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club is amazing, too! Boma also keeps an amazing Gingerbread piece for AKL&V.

You won't run out of ideas!

We're staying at CBR, too. This is the first time we're staying on-site. Hope my kids will enjoy it more. :)
Thanks for replying everyone.
