Disney World Gift Cards

We are leaving for WDW in less than 1 month -- woooo hooooooooo! Both our DD and DS have birthdays between now and then, so we want to get them a gift certificate of some sort for spending money on our vacation.

Is there a Disney Gift Card that is a card?

What are your suggestions here?

We live over 7 hours away from the nearest Disney store is there any way to get disney dollars or gift cards through the net?

We saw the information on the Disney Dollars. I know this is probably a sill question, but are those some sort of paper "dollars" or is it a debit-type card?

The Disney Store has "paper" type dollars that can be used at the Parks. The Disney Store gift card can not be used at WDW. I thought Disney World was going to have a gift card that could only be used in WDW. You may want to do a search for it on the boards.

If you call WDW Merchandise, they can give you information on the WDW gift card. It can only be used in the shops, not for food or lodging. I'm considering buying some for my kids for Christmas. Do a search for WDW Merchandise and you should be able to find the number. Sorry, I don't have it handy.

The WDW Gift card that you purchase at disney can be used for food!!!

According to the August 2005 "Mickey Monitor"

"This summer, remember to pick up your Walt Disney World Resort Shopping and Dining Gift Card and load it up with amounts from $5 to $1500. It make a great gift for family and friends! This new card can be purchased, and used, at select merchandise and food & beverage locations throughout Walt Disney World."

Your best bet is to try emailing Disney Merchandising and see if they can send you some. Otherwise, it looks like you'll have to wait until you get down there to purchase them. Good luck!
