I was wondering if I could get some opinions on what ya'll consider the best one or two rides/attractions in each park. I have heard many times, "Don't try to do it all because you just can't" so I would like to hit what are considered the highlights. My kids will be almost 12 and almost 5 when we go in December (I will turn 34 WHILE we are there!) We will be there for 6 full days and one half day (arrival day) my husband made me get the earliest possible flight out of Orlanda (7:30 am) so he could get home and get his dog out of the kennel- LOL I was also wondering if anyone had been to Mickey's Christmas party and is it worth the ticket price? I was also wondering where you get those cute pictures I see on so many posts- I am kind of computer illiterate but if anyone is willing to help I am sure my 11 year old could follow the directions! Thanks so much! ~Mermaid :D

Ok, here are the rides I always hit A TRILLION TIMES. Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain. For the 5 year old I would suggest....Pirates of the Caribbean, and all of the Fantasy Land rides. The reason why I say not to put the five year old on the TMR,SM, and Space M, is because there kind've fast and a little scary. Splash Mountain is really quiet at first, and has a lot of anamotronic figures, and is really cute, but at the end it drops you 5 storys into a thorn patch. Not verticaly though, at an angle. I hope that you have as much fun as I do.

I will admit to being kind of a chicken- and think I might take my ds to do some tame things while hubby takes my dd to do some of the more daring things! I really appreciate the feedback! ~Mermaid (who wants to be Ariel's best friend! <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz"> )

Is your DS a chicken too, because I found that my kids at even 3,4,5 love some of those rides. My 3 year old rides test track each time. She will only ride SM in the day time because Bear fox scares her but it doesn't seem to be the ride only the character. TMRr is fast but my son loved it when he was 5 and still to this day he does. We ususally give our kids the option. Lots of time they surprise us and say yes or even NO when we least expect it.

just got back, and i have a 9yr old and a 5yr old. My oldest rode everything including space mountain. she loved them even though she was scared at first. We all enjoyed Poohs adventure as well as Peter pans flight. I even enjoyed Peter Pan. Pooh is a new ride and peter Pan and Its a small world are re done, very nice. Also WDW has a new ride Buzz Light Year, where you can shoot laser guns at targets. we entered the park at 9am and ran out of time to see everything by closing time. I strongly recommend you get fastpasses.the are free and give you a time window to come back and get on the ride without much if any wait. I would get to the park very early and go left. that is where most of the family attractions are (swiss family robinsons tree house, pirates of the carribean,etc...), and the crowd will be going to the right, towards space mountain. stay away from the crowds while you can. We made the mistake of going right, and when we got out of the first ride Allien Encounters, the wait time was already 30 minutes.
good luck
mike

My DD was 5 when we went to WDW in 11/99. Her favorite ride at MK was Thunder Mountain. At Epcot she had more fun getting her passport stamped at the different countries. Her all time favorite ride was ToT at the Studios. She talks about that ride all the time and says when she goes to WDW again she will ride it 100 times. I have ressies for 11/01 that she does not know about. Can't wait to tell her she can ride ToT again. :) :)
