CLERMONT - A 54-year-old Disney maintenance man remained at the Lake County Jail without bail Tuesday on charges of sexual battery involving a child, police said.

Christian V. Johnson of Clermont, who was arrested Friday, is accused of molesting a girl on multiple occasions from the time she was 10 to 14 years old, police said. An 18-year-old man also told police that Johnson molested him when he was 8 years old.

Johnson told investigators he did not see anything wrong with the sexual relationship he had with the female victim, according to an arrest report. He denied touching the male victim.

Johnson worked as an electronics maintenance worker at Walt Disney World and has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the charges, Disney spokeswoman Zoraya Suarez said.

"We take allegations of this nature very seriously," Suarez said.

The allegations did not involve children Johnson met at the park, police said.

Johnson served 22 years in the Army as an investigator, according to the report.

Why does the fact that this man is employed by Disney even need to appear in the article?

It sounds like this girl was not visiting the parks when anything occurred.

Well it depends on if this is his first offense. If it is, which is what it sounds like then how could you possibly say anything about Disney for it. How could they have known? If he had a history though then I would be very angry at Disney for allowing a sexoffender to work in such close proximity to children like that. But I think it would have been mentioned in there. I think in this case you see Disney and molest and you are more likely to read so they used that.

How do you feel sorry for a Corporate Conglomerate? Disney has no feelings, no emotions. The biggest effect from these "attacks" is that their lawyers keep busy, but then they're part of "Disney" too.

On topic, it is relevent for exactly the reason CW said. A place that markets itself on such positive imaging, family values and safety and such hadn't better have hired this guy if he had a previous history.

No, it's pertinent. Any group that stirves to stand out above the rest as something special should be fully prepared to stand up to the scrutiny... and I really would like to know if this guy had priors before Disney hired him.
