Disney worker accused of ...

She is "culpable" of being stupid, naive, and greedy, but culpable with regard to rape? No means no. He is guilty all by himself.

Rape because she said so? With the story being so fishy, I have a hard time believing her.

Scratch that ~ I flat out don't believe her.

There's got to be something she's not telling. I can not imagine falling asleep with a stranger in the room with me, let alone if my kid(s) were in the same room!

Quite honestly, I think this was a "trade" gone sour and now she's claiming rape.

She made a lot of stupid decisions, no question about it. Something doesn't add up though. Maybe he slipped something into her drink and that it why she willingly fell asleep with him still in the room and after he attempted to disrobe her a couple times?

That is about the only logical thing I can think of, because there is is no way I am going to fall asleep, leaving a strange man alone with my two kids. Waking up to him trying to pull down her pants and she again falls asleep without kicking him out? Really strange.

Agreed! I was thinking her drink was spiked too, because how could she fall asleep twice with him trying to disrobe her?

If the reservation was made in his name, Disney has a record of that.

Also, if it was assault, I doubt she would go to Epcot with him. On the other hand, there seems to be enough evidence to hold him and him to be charged.

You both said what I was thinking. ::yes::

I can't imagine being raped & then being in the same room with the person, let alone go somewhere with him. And to let him be around my children? Unimaginable. :sad2:

Will be interesting to hear how this plays out.

This doesn't add up to me, because I know how the "Friends and Family" resort discount works, and the part about "signing them in at Epcot."

this story is so weird all the way round.....

First...she is unemployed but was spending her income tax check on Disney?!? I love Disney just as much as the next person on the DIS, but really....hmm a roof over my and my family's heads or disney?

Then...IDK if I am reading this correctly when she booked the package (or the room whatever) and the man said he'd give her a family/friend discount she blurts out "I will not give sexual favors in return." Really, if you were so skeptical as to say this to this man then hang up and call another reservation specialist @ WDW and report whatever it was that he said that would make you blurt that out. If it really was put under his name then a red flag should have went up in this woman's head that this is NOT a good idea.

Really really odd story and don't know which way to go with it LoL.
I thin clearly she is looking for money...so lets sue Disney.

How long before she sues disney for having a "rapist" as an employee?

That part I totally believe. Have you ever read the Budget Board? :rotfl:

This whole story is just BIZARRE. I won't pretend to know what really happened because the only people who do are her, him, and maybe (God I hope not) her poor children.

No one ever DESERVES to be raped, no matter how stupid their decisions may be, but that doesn't mean you should willingly put yourself AND YOUR CHILDREN in dangerous situations.

I agree seems very fishy...you mean after the first time he tried to assualt her while sleep she didn't grab her kids and get the heck out of there!

"She closed her eyes and must have fallen asleep because she felt BJ trying to pull her pants down," the arrest report stated.
The woman told Brookins to leave but he declined and she fell asleep. Again, Brookins tried to disrobe her but stopped when she awoke, the report said. A short while later, she felt Brookins sexually assaulting her, the report stated.
Brookins finally left after throwing something in the room and saying, "See you tomorrow!" The woman said she discovered he took $40, her debit card and the key to the family's room, the report stated."

And then when he finally leaves after the second time she still doesn't call the police? And then after that she still allows him to get her into Epcot for free and then calls and reports him to the police?

Yeah Fishy!!!

ETA - Wonder if this is eventually going to lead to lawsuit (by her) against Disney?

Roofies would explain the into & out of consciousness thing, weird as it is it sounds like some accounts I've read about.

It is not unusual for people to dangle expensive things in front of the naive to make them drop their defenses, if it didn't work it wouldn't happen so often.

Would that also explain going to EPCOT with him the following day?

I agree with the PP that she knows him and is setting him up.

Her story does sound fishy.

As far as "signing them in"...

A CM can get their guests in on their ID--how many depends and I'm not sure all the ins and outs. But it requires the CM to be present and then a one day park hopper is given to the guests. They are then free to go about the parks without the CM being needed.

As far as the rape accusation. He is innocent until proven guilty and the story as conveyed in the article gives me reasonable doubt that she her accusation has any merit.

From the start, I cannot imagine a reservation CM getting so many personal details and then personally contacting the guest. That phone call may or may not be recorded somewhere.

The rest of the story is just plain loopy.

I wonder how old the children are?

This is what I was thinking. I wonder how old they are to and were they actually in the room? Everyone assumes the children were in the room, but the story doesn't say if they were or not. If they were old enough, they could've been at the pool or something.

Like most, I tend not to believe this story though. Too many things that just don't add up. Guess we'll find out more at time goes on.

Everything is loopy.. why would you accept an invitation from a stranger and than drive with your children to meet this stranger? Nobody deserves to be assaulted but c'mon.......

DH is a CM, so I do have a spouse main entrance pass. I know exactly how it works, I do it myself.

My version:

She met him online. He works at Disney. They developed a romantic relationship via email etc. She planned a trip to Orlando to meet him. He was not as he portrayed previously and she was getting wierd vibes from him. She may have had drinks or been drunk and falling asleep. She "knew" him from the internet so she was comfortable with him being in her room. Things went further than she wanted, but she knew him and was doubting herself thinking maybe he was ok so they went to Epcot. She could explain away the debit card and the $40. During the day she came to her senses, maybe spoke with a family member or a friend back home, and created a story around the "truth" that would make her the victim and him the bad guy and get her out of this situation.

However, who knows but the story seems wierd.

I didn't know they had that. That's cool. You can't get people in on your pass though right?

My BFF works there. She can get up to 3 people in at a time for X number of times a year. After 15 years you can then get up to 3 (I think, it might change) people in everyday of the year if you want to. You get a one day park hopper and the employee does not have to be with you. So in theory ... they "signed you in." As they are supposed to make you sign the back of your pass! :-)
