Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

:rotfl2: I checked AccuWeather for September, I can not stop laughing over this weather forecast :rotfl2:

Sep 1 Seattle - Sunny, high 74
Sep 2 Seattle - Sunny, high 80
Sep 3 Seattle - Sunny, high 81
Sep 6 Skagway - Sunny, high 54
Sep 7 Juneau - Partly cloudy, high 56
Sep 8 Ketchikan - Mostly sunny, high 59

This would be PERFECT! I hope the guys at AccuWeather have better predictions than our weather people here. Our guys have no idea what the weather is going to do until after it happens! :rotfl: Maybe we'll get some Pixie Dust and this will be right pixiedust:

Oh, I do love that weather forecast.... but I agree, take it with a grain of salt. (I am always amazed that they can be so wrong, yet be looked at as some type of combo scientist/celebrity, LOL)

Whatever the weather, we will have a great time!

As for the Ears... I might as well tell you now, that was actually going to be one of my FE gifts. I was going to make a bunch of different ears for everyone. :cool1:

That's an awesome gift! I have been wanting the ears too, and haven't had time to figure them out!

The forecast looks amazing! Here in Seattle we are hitting the 90's for a couple days, but it will cool off a little by then! I know many people think low 90's is not hot...but we don't have a/c around here, even some businesses! Haha!

Sorry for all the posts today guys. It's a long day at work, so I've got more time on my hands...

I just called DCL and this is what they told me would be playing:

In 3D - Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides
- Cars 2
- John Carter
- Brave
Non-3D - The Help
- The Muppets
- War Horse
- The Avengers
- Chimpanzee
- People Like Us
- The Odd Life of Timothy Green
- Cars 2
- John Carter
- Brave

Seems like an awful lot of movies! I hope we have time to see one or two... I've got a lot of stuff planned (based on previous navigators)! :cool1:

Edit - so much for formatting... the first 4 movies listed are in 3D, the rest not.

I got my stateroom. It is starting to feel real now.

Just curious - did you book a special rate (VGT, OGT) or GTY - or just a regular booking? Several people on this thread are waiting for GTY, and I'm not-so-patiently waiting for my VGT assignment. Someone on the 8/27 Wonder sailing got their VGT assignment yesterday, so I'm probably stuck waiting until next Wednesday.

The northwest had one of the coldest June on record. July was ok and August has been great 94 today. Maybe since Summer got such a late start it will carry over to September.

Does anyone know if the onboard discount includes the airfare or is it just the cruise price?

We are now thinking of scrapping our Thanksgiving Week WDW vacation (due to scheduling problems with half of the family groups that were wanting to do that trip). Now we are thinking of looking into the possibility of taking advantage of the onboard discount while in Alaska and doing another Bucket List Item - Mediterranean Cruise.

If you are talking about booking a new cruise while on the Alaska cruise. The onboard promotion is:

1. A stateroom credit depending on the length of the new cruise
2. A 10% discount off the price of the future cruise you are booking
3. A reduced deposit to hold book the reservation (10% instead of 20%)

Cruise Only discount

10% off base price only. You still pay taxes and anything else you
might add on (air, transfers, gratuites, excursions, etc.)

Thanks! I have been wanting to see chimpanzee, and we were waiting for the cruise to see brave, figuring the theater may be more toddler friendly than your average theater! ;)

We've wanted to see Chimpanzee too. I think, if the times are right, we might try Brave in 3D. Ryan did fine with Brave in the theater, though he was a little scared at times. He's never seen a whole movie in 3D. We've done Muppet Vision and Mickey's Philharmagic at Disney, so maybe he can handle a whole movie. I'm guessing the theaters are more kid-friendly and people don't get overly upset if you need to leave halfway through. My parents took Ryan to The Muppets (which is very kid-safe, BTW) on our other cruise, but Phil and I have never seen a movie on the ship before. I'm looking forward to every aspect of this trip! Two weeks from tomorrow we get on a plane!

Half the time, the theatre is somewhat empty depending on how long the movie has been out or how many folks have seen it before/how popular it is. There are always people coming in late or leaving early as everyone has a different schedule. Just sit towards the outside in the rows so you don't have to climb over many people if it is a full theatre. Quarters are tight :crowded: Ok, so that may be a bit of an exaggeration but it isn't a comfy as movie theatres on land as they don't have to seat as many people as on the ship.

Hi all. I thought I saw some of you had the FE figured out as to who was traveling as mom/adult daughter, friends, etc. Could someone PM me the list of adults traveling together so I don't miss anyone? Thanks so much! :worship:

Along the same lines (but not just for FE), is there a master list with everyone's name (all but us newcomers, anyway) - it would be nice to see who is traveling, where you are from, who are you traveling with, etc.

Is there talk of a first day 'meet'?
