Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Ok, just wondering who all are pin traders? I was going to bring all my extras to trade with anyone that is willing to trade. I have a bunch of the wave one from DLR. I have about 2-300 traders! I have a few traders on my PinPics account, but most aren't.

Anyone else want to trade? :woohoo:

While not an avid pin trader (I don't get to Disney enough), I will be bringing some pins along to trade. Obviously, based on my DISName, I lean toward Dumbo pins! However, I like what I like so will always trade for pins other than Dumbo.

Looking forward to see what you, and any other pin traders, have!

Avid pin trader here! Although I don't know how much I'll be able to bring with me. My luggage is going to be heavy enough. :). What do you collect?

:rotfl2: I actually like almost everything. I like Jack and Sally stuff, but I really like the weird or dangles. I have over 2100 pins. I trade in the park for anything that I haven't seen before, so pretty open.

Leaving the hubby and kid at home this time. Me and my girlfriend just booked the cruise 2 days ago. We are on late dining so if anyone wants to cross reference dining let me know. I am mid 40's and my friend is mid 50's. This is her first Disney Cruise and her first Alaska Cruise. This will be my 3rd Alaska Cruise and 6th Disney Cruise.

We are excited! Only 21 days to book port adventures. We decided on the Best of Juneau and are thinking about a float plane in Ketchikan. Has anyone done a float plane in Ketchikan? I am wondering if it will be too rainy to enjoy in Ketchikan early September. Anyone have any advice?

Hi! Welcome :) From what I've read, Ketchikan will be the "rainiest" place, I booked a floatplane trip there and i think it should be ok... just have a back-up plan incase it gets cancelled.

I've been looking at the webcam and talking to the place where we reserved the plane and the weather is similar to many places in SoCal. When is it cloudy/foggy/misty, 10 minutes away can be clear and sunny.

The place I booked through said that they will give us a refund if the weather is not going to cooperate. (Islandwings) We only had to give a 50% deposit too.

We are looking forward to our first Disney Cruise (2 adults - my mom and I). Leaving the men at home.

It's new, but has anyone used the Bolt Bus as a transfer option (between Vancouver and Seattle)? The rate is good, but it picks up at the train station. So lugging bags on the sky train...

Have a Magical day! :earsgirl:

Thanks! I have just emailed them. This looks like what we want for less than what Disney is asking. Thank You!

Those prices are fantastic! $13.00 for 2 people to ride from Vancouver to Seattle. I paid $80.00 for the 2 of us going through Amtrak (we will be on a bus). The Bolt doesn't leave until 1:30 pm and gets into Seattle @ 5:15 pm.
The Amtrak has earlier departures but those BOLT prices are crazy. Seems like the gas prices would be more than the fare they are charging. Good find!

My plan is to take a taxi to the train station. It's less than 2 miles from the cruise ships so the cost shouldn't be too bad.

Just a reminder to everyone ...

The FE list is closed. No new groups will be added. Any request will be forwarded to all participants and if they can add you they will email you directly.

Thanks

Mr. Happy, that's quite a collection! Do you mostly frequent WDW or DL? Where is the bulk of your pins from? I Collect anything that catches my eye but I have a DVC collection, Disney Travel Co collection, and my DH favors Imagineer pins, event pins, resort pins, non-rack or limited ed. park pins (especially anything outside of US), and other non-US Disney pins that are interesting. DH also collects Jack. I'm sure there's more that I'm not thinking of. It would be great to get together on the first day or two and compare pins. Let me know if you're looking for anything in particular that might guide what I decide to bring.

Hi DumboCollector, I'll check our collection and see if I have any Dumbo for you. It will be nice to meet and compare collections. I look forward to trading with you.

Most of mine are from DLR. I started in WDW, but then I got an annual pass to DLR, and have been about 5-6 times. I just traded over 1k pin a month ago, still sorting those out. lol.

I'm still trying to get all the WDW Hidden Mickeys if anyone is coming over from there. I have a copy of almost all of the first wave of DLR ones for trade...

Most of mine are pretty common. 60-70% are just trades off of cast lanyards. I got someones full collection of 1k pins off eBay which had a bunch of older, but still common, pins. About the only ones that I bought are the new Gearing Up for Summer ones that were in July. I'm hoping to get enough money for the next set.

I'm actually planning a trip to DLR in Oct too. I have always wanted to go with kids, so I'm taking my sister and her kids (5 & 9). Now I can give them a lanyard and get pins off the teal lanyards!! :lmao: No, what I'm really looking forward to is not being embarrassed to go on the kids rides in Bugs Land and ToonTown. :joker: I hope to get the second wave then though.

Most of ours are from WDW so it sounds like our collections will be a good match. I think I have some of the Hidden Mickeys and a bunch of older cast lanyard pins. I'll be sure to sort through before we leave for the trip. Now all we have to do is figure out the when and where to get together - and open it up to the whole group for any who are interested.

Can't wait! Soooo excited.

Hi Donna,

I'm also from socal (and also booked within the last week). Have you figured out your logistics yet? When I went on an Alaskan cruise in 98, we flew up and sailed on the same day, but this time I'm more chicken and flying in the day before... I'm way too afraid of flight delays. That is as far as I've gotten... need to find hotel and transportation - so I haven't even had a chance to look at activities in the ports yet. :(
