Disney Wonder - Sept 30 2010 3 Night Bahamas

The beach was great today but it is now storming and that wasn't in the forecast at all for today. Not even like a 10% chance. Oh well.

And yes I am resting up. Kiddos are in the other room with their grandma. They want to sleep with her and I'm not arguing.

Ready for a quiet weekend though. We have had something for the last two weekend and have a scheduled meeting with my sons birth mom and birth grandma next weekend that requires about a three hour one way trip. I really am ready to stay home for a weekend.

I imagine a storm on the beach would be an awesome sight to see. I hope you get rest soon. :flower3:

We found a house, we found a house!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:I was soooo nervous, because the thing is, the area that we were looking at is way more than I wanted to pay, and nothing was WOWing me... We walked into this one, that we weren't even suppose to see, and I was like ohhh crap this is IT! Except it was $200 over what I wanted to pay, so the lady showing us said, the owner is outside go talk to her... I didn't want to, I thought that was rude... But we did go introduce ourselves and she is so nice... So we go to leave, my hubby and I both get in the car and both go, I LOVE IT! I told him what the lady said, and he's like I"ll go talk to them...so he did, and so if we do the yard work ourselves (yuck...but I will) they will knock $150 a month off!!! WOOHOOOO!!!!! It is by far the coolest house ever. The floors in the master bathroom are HEATED... who needs heated floors?? I DO I DO!! :rolleyes1Okay i don't... but we looked at other houses for the exact same price and they were all cookie cutter and boring. I wish ya'll lived here so we could have a pre-disney cruise house warming party. I'm so excited. I mean we still have to put in the application and get final approval, and pray that everything with jobs works out...but still...SOOO Excited!!!

YEEAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew you would! hahahahaha go girlfriend! :woohoo::yay:

Add 2 more to the party, I just booked! Since posting that we were thinking about going I've read many of your pages. Now I dream about bunnies with waffles. Just kidding! Looking forward to meeting you all on board in not so many days! I still have some planning to do but we are flying in the night prior (from CA our only choices are early morning or night before - our last disney cruise we did the AM & I was so tired day one, I figured this was only 3 nights I didn't want to miss anything!). Still need to get a place to stay that night & a car; we will probably do as we did last time & stop by a liquor store & bring something onboard to save some money. More to come later; fire away with anything you want to know (it seems better than my telling you what I think you might want to know; but I will say we are DVC members and live really close to Disneyland; so close that we can see the fireworks from our yard).

Welcome aboard! Looking forward to meeting you and your husband!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how much cash to bring on the trip???

For while on the ship or off? It's really up to how much you want to budget for your trip. I tend to not bring as much cash, because I use the points I used on my Disney rewards card to pay for stuff, and then when that's done, I go to my cash. I try not to use my Debit card, because it's too easy to swipe and not stick to a budget.

Welcome! I am so glad my bunnies have affected your dreams! I am assuming that you are seconding dining. If you are, then do you want to link reservations so we can all sit together....or close to each other?

Man Rebekah (Hawky7) will be thrilled to know you are so close to DisneyLand. She ADORES that place. She is flying out of Oregon on Wednesday I think. Maybe you guys will be on the same flight! :rotfl2:

Anyway, WELCOME! :welcome:

I usually don't bring much- some $$ for room service tips and if I planned to go into Nassau...mostly I put everything on the card.

Me too! I woke up at 6:30 going "seriously?" But I have been getting to bed much earlier so maybe that's it. Watch....tonight I will go to bed at midnight!

The bad thing here is, I can't do anything because everyone else is asleep and I will make too much noise doing anything besides being on the board (sad..I know lol) so I dont get anything more done since it is early. Oh well.

I'm more worried about being someplace, like in Nassau, and needed cash for cash only places. I have no idea what things cost. I heard there are places that are cash only. Other than that I'm doing cc.

WELCOME!!!! And hooray for another WEST COASTER!!! YEAAAHHHH, and I'm excited that I'll have a new place to stay when I go to DL. Oh is that not okay that I'm already inviting myself to your house?? We're kinda like family on here, so I just figured it was fine... :) :thumbsup2

Same flight?? Ohhh Jen what am I going to do with you. :confused3
<whisper> Kelly, she doesn't understand California and Oregon, while yes share a border, aren't really "that" close in reality to where you and I live...so just let her keep thinking we are on the same flight...

And yes, I am thrilled, read above, I already invited myself to stay with her. Oh KELLY- I should mention, I'll be more than happy to pay you for you lending me your home in churros, and dole pineapple whips...

And I do ADORE DL... don't make me get into why you can't even compare WDW to it...Don't even get me started ladies...Don't do it, I'm telling you!!! pirate:

Jackie- Are you thinking of getting alot of souveneirs?? I wouldn't take too too much cash, maybe like $100 or so off the ship... If you are going to the straw market, you'll need it there, but most of the other stores in Nassau do take cards... And the straw market you can play Let's Make a Deal with them...cause they'll do it to you...So be prepared.

Thanks for all the well wishes on the house, we cancelled all our appts for today, except one that we really liked. And then we have a company picnic for the hubsters work. So I'm going to have to put on my sweet wifey face, and play nice so we can guarantee he gets this transfer. Maybe I could flip my hair out and wear an apron and be like sorry I just didn't have time to change, with baking everyone some chocolate chip cookies today. I hope you like them.... :) :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for everyones advise. So $100 cash is what I would need for the whole cruise everything else would be cc. That makes me feel a lot better. And hubby is the expert at bargaining... it's part of his life, I keep my mouth shut. ;)

I sure hope I'm not posting again; I tried & think it was to long so I'll stick to the basics adn probably have a few posts. First, questions - can you confirm no formal night on the 3 day? Also what are people doing on nassau? Third (& most important) - meet up (Yeah, I've been a stalker of you guys now I can be a participant) is at the back of the boat level 7 patio, right? What time?

Questions I remember for the group & here are my answers- football yes (DH37 does fantasy & I just enjoy), baseball fans but my team is practicaly out already so it won't matter, not really Nascar fans but nothing against it, DH golfs. We do drink & probably will rent a car to drive to the port (found it much cheaper than disney transport last time and we don't feel we need the "experience" of it as this is DCL #2) and stop on the way to buy something to bring on board (vodka or rum, maybe irish whiskey for him and a bottle of wine since I'm a sept baby & will therefore be celebrating #37 on board even though it's a few weeks late). If we go this route I can certainly take orders for the liquor store (and maybe Walmart if we do carry on luggage only & want to buy sunscreen - I'll let you know). I'm not shy, ask away. I have a few comments for people so I'll send another post too. I'm at work tonight & usually Sun is slow so I may try to re read all 145 pages to keep you all straight (dis names vs. real names is hard when you are not a participant!).

No formal night on the 3 night cruise. Promise! I am staying on the boat for Nassau day. I have no desire to get off. Castaway Cay....that's a whole other ball of was :rotfl2: The official meet is yes, on deck 7 the front of the boat I think, at 3 but I am 99% sure we will see you before then

 re-read all 145 pages? Seriously? :scared1:

Hi Kelly,

Welcome.

No formal on the 3 night. :woohoo:

At Nassau, our family is doing the Sea Lion encounter.

Now, a question for you...
What dining seating, first or second?

Forgot to include that we are part of the 6th floor party! And 2nd dinner seating.

Rebekah- I guess I'm glad to represent the west coast; although not always because being from where the "real housewives" are from is sometimes embarassing; I'm not size 2!! And assuming you behave on thr cruise & don't throw up on my shoes or anything you are probably welcome at our house anytime you want to come down! But I may want a room in your new house then as I love Portland. there are some things I love about WDW but agree the original is the best!

Jackie- did I see you are from Edwardsville? I use to live in Glen Carbon. And as far as cash, you may also want to make sure you bring small bills so they can't charge more because "they don't have change" or you can just pull out $4 and tell them that is all you have for a $10 item. Plus that way you can store it in several locations to cut down chances of losing it.

Jen- your stuff is so amazing. I have the crafting skills of a turnip so I am in such awe. Maybe one of these days I will be early enough to do FE and would buy one from you. i think last time half of why I didn't was I knew I'd never make one & had no idea I could buy one! And buy a beautiful reasonably priced one!

Lori- my husband is of Irish decent and has lots of family there. I suspect he will love your husband.

Alex- hope your daughter continues to do well

Oooooh it sounds like you're going to fit right in. Ugh I couldn't imagine reading 145 pages:headache: "not a participant" for me it really doesn't matter... I'm clueless and can't keep anything straight. I'm hoping to have some of it straight by the time I get home. :rotfl:

OMG Glen Carbon... when, for how long??? This is too cool.

Yes, I will have to remember small bills. I'm glad you said that because I wouldn't have thought of it (or hubby wouldn't of ) until it was too late. Thanks

Tell me you're Catholic.:goodvibes
