Things have been very calm, although rainy. On one hand I am glad, but worried on another. I do not wish any bad weather on anyone, but the longer we go without a storm, the more likely it could be active when we are there :confused3 ...It's simple probability.
RAINY is an understatement here in SW Florida! We are getting the effects of those storms that have been generated from the Bahamas. What is the weather like in the Islands?

We have had torrential rains and flooding. Yesterday, Logan and I were caught in a storm while leaving the mall. The water was to my knees, no exaggeration! It was unbelievably scary to drive in, I wasn't sure if my car would make it! :scared1:

I had to check for myself (since Bill has been so quiet). Here's a link I found of the East coast. Is that a hurricane swirl on the bottom right in the 60 square? http://www.goes.noaa.gov/browsh2.html

No. Just some clouds. Here is the latest from NHC
TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 530 AM EDT WED JUL 12 2006

"Minimal" is an interesting description. :scared1:

We are renting a 12 pass. van from Budget for $107.87. We did this last year too. We have 9 of us plus all our luggage and fit without a problem. Actually last year my fil and his girlfriend came with us too so we were 11 and still fit. I pack alot too lol. ;) I think for the return trip from canaveral to mco it was only 76.08. That seems like agreat deal to me compared to the 50 bucks a piece Disney charges

Jan- sorry about your finger and how true it can always be worse can't it? ;)

That's a great deal! The only reason we're not renting a van and driving ourselves is that we don't want to even have to think about getting lost! I am looking forward to being picked up and dropped off at the correct location (God willing) at a reasonable time (God willing)!

I am hoping our luggage will all fit in the van. I am sure there will be a TON! :bitelip:

Yes, I know what you mean about the internet thing. My philosophy is Live and Let Live. I try not to debate things too much it never gets you anywhere People are always going to have different opinions. Is anyone who is going on the cruise from the resorts going to use different transportation instead of the buses? If so what company are you using. I am thinking about it.

We rented a car and are going to drive down and park it at the garage while on the cruise.

We are staying at POR for 5 days before the cruise. We are also on a land and sea package but I would like to get to the port early. Thanks for all the info.

We'll be there Friday and Saturday!!! DD wants to fish and rent a boat!!!

Vicki- lol it's getting harder and harder to catch up around here :cool1:

My poor house may never get clean :rotfl2: My dh keeps walking by me on the laptop and shaking his head :rotfl:

AMEN!

May I share with my cruise buddies what a great day I had yesterday (if you don't mind)? I was FINALLY able to book airfare for my family of 5 on Southwest - $49/each way. :dancer: AND I received my Disney graduation ears from the College of Disney Knowledge (I became a TA not so long ago). :teeth: AND I was able to book a room for a great rate at the Poly for 3 nights after our cruise. :cheer2: It was a GREAT day!! I am ready to go!! pirate:

Okay, not totally ready, I still have to buy goodie bag things. But I'm getting there!

As far as the transportation question - we are renting a car also. From MCO to Cocoa Beach $29 for 1 night. For Cocoa Beach to Orlando for 3 nights then to MCO = $103.

I'm right there with you. I am waiting for the final count this weekend and then I will purchase. Congratulations on the airline steal and the Ears :earsgirl:

Dawn- I decided to get the actual goodie bags earlier and noticed that those came off the list. I'm still doing those and please add ring pops (easier to transport than chocolate!)

Luv to travel
Congrats on such a "wonder"ful day :cool1: I actually ran out of gas yesterday with 5 kids in the car after fireworks last night   What a fiasco. Who the Hell"o" runs out of gas???? We were stuck in the after fireworks traffic and the girls all kept watching the DTE meter in my van go from 29 down to 0. Luckily we were in the dunkin donuts parking lot

My neighbors were with us and got me gas but let me tell you I will never live it down around here :rotfl: :lmao: I'm already the butt of many dizzy blonde jokes so, well, you can just imagine :teeth:

Anywho......

I just pulled out the cruise bin from the basement and we had fun looking at all of last years "stuff" and emptying it for this years stuff All of our lanyards and pins, over the door shoe holders and such.

Suzanne

Oh I found our final bill from last years Wonder cruise and it was $578.64 in case anyone is looking for a ball park. That was with no excursions and no spa treatments though!!!

That was my wife's bar tab.....:happytv:

Thanks everyone for all the info on transportation. We have the Disney bus but I don't really want to get to the port so late.

I don't remember who was saying they might just buy green shirts instead of making it but Disney has Logo T-shirts in Lime Green for $3.99. I bought myself and DD one. I know I won't get the time to do the shirts I spend way to much time on these boards. Speaking of cleaning my FIL is flying in on Friday I need to start cracking. These are the times I wish I had a house cleaner. Being an at-home mom I don't think DH would go for it. Then I could spend all my spare time at the gym getting skinny. Right? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

How old is your DD? Mine will be 10 and 4 when we travel. My DD would love to fish and stuff also. We are going to try and hit the parks the first couple of days but then I think it is going to get real crowded the closer to the holiday weekend it gets. :cool1:

I log in just to check and man, there's been more posting....

Our bill was higher. We hit maybe the $650. range. I had a spa visit, Brandon had the message special by the pool, one ginerale, some shopping in the ship shop. Of course Shutters was on there, our Palo bill, DD bought a princess dress w/ bingo winnings. I think that about covers our bill.

Congrats Luv2travel on your latest accomplishment! I hope to hear more travel deals from you. How exciting to have some one in the know.

suzannef, glad there was a donut place near by. Just when you think you can go a little further....kablooee. Glad to know you are all alright. You got to see fireworks last night? You have a cruise bin, that's a great idea!

Bill

Now I remember what I wanted to post.....has anyone looked at disneyshopping.com at the create your own tees? You can get kids, mens and women's sizes (they have a cute fitted shape) all with the same colors AND add your name. I think it was in the $15-20 apiece.
$3.99 sounds much better, lol. There is always a sewing machine to make the ladies shirt fit better ;)
