O.k., here's what Dzneprincess: (seasoned DISer and DCL sailor) replied. Hey T ! You can book it out for as far as DCL has the rates released for and then change it to the real week you want once those dates are out!

If you book onboard, you can transfer your reservation to a TA for a lower rate, keep the credits, and shuffle your dates. Pretty cool.

So, book away if you are able!

Thanks,

That is good to know. Now I can start working on the husband. :thumbsup2

I can't find the exact quote where Eliz. Swan says some thing like. You think that's painful....try wearing a corset! That's what came to mind after reading your post. Oh my gosh, I can't imagine the torture of sucking it up so I can hear my ribs cracking. Ohvay! I think during this period of time, I'd rather be a peasant rather than an aristicrat to spare myself some physical torture.

Jacoby: I'm gonna teach you the meaning of pain.
Elizabeth: You like pain?
[hits pirate in the head with a pole]
Elizabeth: Try wearing a corset.

Love it!

LOL The peasants wore the corsets too. I'm actually much more comfortable in a corset than I am in high-heeled shoes! But my new bodice is the best of all worlds--it's only a half-bodice, so it's not terribly constricting. :woohoo: I really do want to post a picture, but I can't get anyone to take one. Yeesh...you'd think I hadn't spent all weekend taking pictures of them...

This is a good lesson for you parents whose kids like motorcycles. He lost it in a motorcycle accident. I just thought I would let everyone know. The little boys are usually more apt to ask questions and the little girls seem to get scared.

So typical! LOL.....I remember when my grandma used to take her teeth out. It scared me, but my male cousins thought it was cool. :confused3

Working in a rehab hospital, I see the results of motorcycle accidents every day. Which is why I am very very reluctant to ever let my DH have one. It just doesn't matter how careful you are, all it takes is someone to not see you! (Of course, we definately have our share of 22 year olds who were speeding! :moped: ) Head injuries, shattered legs, amputations, internal injuries.......eeeeeeeeeeeek. All the ones I see are lucky to have survived. I try not to think about the ones who never make it to me.

On a lighter note, anyone who needs to share some of my shopping genes can feel free! All of my bathing suits (I bought three.......I already have two!) arrived from Newport News yesterday, and now all I can think about is buying DH new trunks and getting a new pair of sandals and what about more things for my travel bag and don't I need a new beach bag already? :Pinkbounc

Happy Monday all, 7 more weeks!

Vicki
I'm glad your son is better :goodvibes
7 more weeks yowza :scared1: I need to get myself in gear.

Well I broke down and booked the stingray excursion today for myself and 2 youngest dd's. They really wanted to do it :confused3 It does look like fun though. Any one else doing this at one?

Piecey great videos :cool1:

Happy Monday all, 7 more weeks!

My dh's there is no more elastic left in his swimtrunks. I didn't find out today until I went to go wash them after being at the pool. Men. Just kidding Bill! Geez, another reason to go shopping before the summer clearances are gone. Darn.

Have any of you gotten your over the door shoe hangers yet for toiletries etc.? They truly are a space saver. Take the suction cups w/ hooks on them so you can hang your swimsuits in the tub w/o them dripping on the bathroom floor.

Yes, I definately look forward to chatting with you all in person too!

Peasants wore corsets too?? :crowded: <--- me, inbetween my corset. Big breath...:faint:

7 weeks! whoohoo and the weather's been cooperating too! :woohoo:  :woohoo:

Michael and I are doing the Stingray Excursion at 2. We have Cabana massages reserved from 12-1 but not sure if I'll have the $$ to keep mine. Michael, however, is going all out. He's going to college at Ohio State a couple weeks after the cruise so he's going CRAZY and getting all sorts of stuff for this cruise :)

Glad everyone liked the videos!
My swimsuits will ALL look horrible.. I haven't bought a new one for a couple years and am having surgery that will.. well, change.. the way my swimsuit fits right after the cruise..so I can't justify buying a new one..
looking forward to seeing everyone elses bargains!

We are doing at 2 also. It will be myself, DH and DD(10). Oh no my oldest is turning 10 next Wednesday. I don't want to say I have a 10 year old yet. They grow up to fast.

Tae Ja,

Are there retractable clothes lines over the tubs on the cruise ship? If so, I have some of those clothsepin hooks that I will bring to dry suits. :confused3

We are doing the 10 am stingray at CC, along with the couple we are travelling with.

Haha! Yeah.....he has one good pair, and one pair that is, well, TRANSPARENT. We both like to have a spare in case the other one is still drying. But he can't wear those! No sir! lol. Left to his own devices, he would wear the same thing every day, boxers and socks included. AND he is colorblind. How did he live before me? :confused3

Since it's just me and DH (for now), I opted for one of those fold-out toiletry bags with a hanger. When I travel with kids though......shoe holder all the way!

Happy shopping :)

No there are not. At least I can't remember there being any. Hmmmm, good question. Jan or Barb do you know the answer to this great question?

Weihund, ohh, the fold out toiletry bag will be nice. :thumbsup2

I gotta type and run all. :teleport:

:jumping1: It's almost time!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

I got the shoeholder thing. I only got one since it's just KP, me and DS. Do you think one is enough? :confused3

I also heard about the retractable clothesline and plan on bringing clothes pins. So if that isn't right I guess the two suits will be a blessing.

I didn't get to Wally World but will try to go this weekend and conquer the bulk of the list. It's stuff like claritin/benedryl, Bonine, stain sticks, waterproof disposable cameras, batteries etc. All the important stuff is purchased with the exception of t-shirts. My vanity is getting the better of me. I do not want to wear a "men's" t-shirt that is real baggy and want the tapered "women's" t-shirt. Of course I cannot find 1 men's shirt, 1 kids shirt and 1 ladies shirt in the same shade of green. I may go back to red but who knows. I might also give up and buy standard Mickey Mouse t-shirts. Still on the fence. Either way, I doubt you'll miss my group.

My dad is a die hard Harley guy. He  his Harley. He has ridden bikes since I was 4 years old and has never had an accident so he gets a bit defensive about the whole "you shouldn't have a bike because look at all the injuries" conversation. I would appreciate any stories about such be avoided at dinner. He gives me a headache when he gets on his soapbox :teeth:

On a side note, I was shaking my head in amazement yesterday when I saw two couples on motorcycles riding on the highway going 65 mph with NO HELMET. Hello-did you not hear about Ben R.???? Now my dad always wears a helmet. Not that it's a gtd for safety but geez if you plan on riding at least try to protect your head?!!!!

Kerry,

I should have phrased that better. We are a not anti-motorcycle family. Well I should say my DH and DD are not. They have quads and motorcycles. My DH would love a Harley but as long as I can keep booking Disney cruises I can keep that from happening. Jim is not anti-motorcycle either and does not talk about it unless asked. No worries. I just hope your dad does not get my DH into thinking about it. Ha Ha! I was just letting everyone know in case it comes up around the pool or beach. My DD is the type that will be jumping on her motorcycle to go to college.

It is all good! You would be amazed at the amount of people with VERY strong opinions about motorcycles on both sides of the debate. My former FIL got hurt very badly on his motorcycle but he was also speeding (very high rate of speed)

Moments like these are why I hate the internet. It's hard for people to judge what I mean. Keep your DH away from my dad and BF. :rotfl: My dad took BF to the huge Harley store in Daytona Beach and now my BF wants one. Says that will be his big purchase after my ring and then our house. :faint: So if you do not want DH to get a hog then limit his exposure to the hog enthusiasts :smooth:

As for myself, I love riding on the back of a motorcycle. I also recognize the potential safety risks. Maybe because I lack testosterone? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Yes, I know what you mean about the internet thing. My philosophy is Live and Let Live. I try not to debate things too much it never gets you anywhere People are always going to have different opinions. Is anyone who is going on the cruise from the resorts going to use different transportation instead of the buses? If so what company are you using. I am thinking about it.

We are going to call Happy Limo and have them pick us up with their big van. There are 10 of us, at two different hotels, and they had the best rate. I have read a lot of posts (both negative and positive) about them but the other companies seem to charge a LOT more. I am all for keeping the cost down and spending it ON the cruise, not getting TO the ship. It's an hour drive, I am hoping for a noneventful trip.

Anyone else?
