DVC members use points not cash, so a group rate wouldn't apply. You have to use cold hard $$$$$ to get a discount. :teeth: Vicki, they told you how to bank your points, right? I just thought it was odd that you said you had to take a vacation in 2008 or lose your points.

Well, I'm only 40 pages behind. I'm catching up with you all! :faint:

Yes they told us how to bank points. I meant the points we recieve in Dec. If we dont use them after banking them we lose them. Right?

TaeJa we bought through DVC too! We got 210 points. Dawn is right It takes a lot of points for the cruises. The 7 day is over 300 and it is per person for the first 2 then a smaller amount for 3-4. Havent used it yet but it sounds great! We just found out we can go to Hawaii and only use 160 points for the WEEK.
We also bought at SSR.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Dude! That guy is crazy cool, when i saw him, he had these things on the horse's horseshoes (whoa...lol) and it made it sound like there was a group of horses running down mainstreet. I was just standing outside a shop and all of the lights went out and I turned around, Shazam! There he was, pummeling down mainstreet USA. It was one of the coolest feelings watching this guy ride.

I *almost* regret missing MNSSHP, but it was the last night we were there, and we were all sick and exhausted, so I think going back to the room and resting was the better choice for us. :thumbsup2

But your description reminded me of how I felt when we went to the Narnia display at MGM. Has anyone else done that? It was incredible for me. We were waiting in the waiting area, which is this plain room in front of a HUGE wardrobe. I was taking pictures of the wardrobe, which was very pretty, and I got distracted and looked away. When I looked back, the doors were swinging open and there in front of me was the lamp post and a snowy forest. I can't even begin to describe how magical that was. I got chills and I might have started to cry. I think that's why we love Disney so much--they pay attention to every little detail and give you such an incredible experience, they really try to put you *into* the story.

I agree, I wasn't impressed by the Capt'n Jack on the Wonder. did you take any pictures of the Capt'n Jack at the Kingdom?

BTW Logan (or any one else), what websites to you read about POTC the movie? I'm finding old ones or ones w/ shallow content... Thanks in advance.

I did, I'll work on posting those soon I hope. Only 30 pages behind!

I'm glad you are home safe and sound. Guess you had a e-ticket of your won getting home. Wow, we were at the MK on the 8th and it was dead. We were laughing about how we had to wait 5 minutes (rarely) for a ride. Then, we went to Epcot and it wasn't bad there either until after 6pm when the MK vistiors came over.

Did you just do MK or other parks too that made your visit crazy? AK...etc...? You'll have to excuse me, I'm  .

The parks were very empty for our entire trip, so that was definitely not the problem. We never waited more than 20 minutes even at the busiest times! The stress was trying to do everything at all of the parks, because we haven't been there before (well, my family hadn't--a disastrous WDW trip in 1990 was what drove me to move away from my parents) and we won't be back for a few more years. There were just so many parks, and so many things to do! We're very used to just re-riding all of the rides that we enjoy, and at Disneyland it's a 5-minute walk to park hop. It was overwhelming to try to fit it all in! Several times I would say, hey, we've still got to do this entire park! But looking at the map, we'd find out that we'd done almost everything and it got lost in the blur of rushing around. We also had the Disney dining plan, so we spent a lot more time at sit-down meals than we normally do. Should have been relaxing...but I came home all stressed out! In addition to the four theme parks, we also squeezed in DisneyQuest and Blizzard Beach. And we only rode Pirates of the Caribbean 3 or 4 times! :sad2:

I kept looking for my youngest dd, My MIL and me in her video too. We were at the far end of where Patsy was. I kept telling the screen. pan more to the other end, pan more to the other end! You know, kinda like watching a football game, baseball game, you get the idea.

DAWN- It was very nice meeting you and your family. I'm sure your dh understands your DIS/DCL/Disney obsession, but how about the kids? One night I got a funny look from your son. Poor guy. ....wait, is that how my son's going to think of me when he gets preteen age? I better start conditioning him now!

Hmmm...I don't know. I think they get a little tired of it from time to time. I have a tendency to fly off the handle when I get stressed out about a trip, and to appease me my husband has them thank me for the trips. I think they get sick of that. As for the funny look...I know I've been talking about you guys for forever (my DH even remembered Patsy!) but I don't know how much they listened. My son knows I'm paranoid about internet safety--I've been nagging him about it a lot!--so he might have been freaked out that I was talking to you guys when I only knew you from the internet! Then again, he's at that age...maybe he just thinks us old folks are whacko.

Oh, I know what it was! I failed to introduce my family to any of you...yikes! Sorry, guys...I'm a failure at social niceties! :sad2:

Okay.. erica. You made me wannt cry.

I'm sitting here, terribly lonely. Not even a puppy to pull close and get kisses from. And then I go and read that and ...*sigh*...

I hope to someday have half of what you've got with your husband :) :)

That is possibly the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me :goodvibes
'course, I don't write about all of the annoyances that come with him :rotfl:
He's probably reading this - just kidding baby!

What was their problem? :confused3
Of course, some people are only happy when they are miserable, but often people who bash DCL have a reason--they want a PARTY ship or casino or R rated entertainment or something. Or, they were led to believe they could LOUNGE AROUND all day and the kids would be busy in the Clubs only to find out their own kids wanted to be with them. HORRORS!! They might actually have to parent their own kid while on vacation........
Let them vent and come here to talk to :grouphug: US--THE VOICE OF SANITY!! :woohoo:
Jan :earsgirl:

:lmao: I was going to say that too...but then again, I had to *beg* my children to spend time with me on the cruise. I had a conversation with my daughter that went something like this...

Sweetpea: I want to go in the kid's club at Castaway Cay.

Me: Again? But I thought you'd spend time with me!

Sweetpea: I want to do (whatever it was that they were doing that day)! I'll spend all day tomorrow with you.

Me: All day tomorrow? That's great! (tongue in cheek) I didn't think you'd want to spend all day in the kid's club on the day we're at sea, anyway.

Sweetpea: (long pause) What?

Me: Tomorrow. The ship will be at sea all day. We won't get off the ship at all.

Sweetpea: (long pause) I'll spend all day with you the day after that.

You're not too far off from this thread...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=653643.

But the posting shouldn't stop here either for us stragglers/undecided/broke....hint hint ;)

Oi, can you imagine the thread if we joined them? 45,000 posts???

I'd be sad, too...I don't think we can swing a 2008 cruise. The current plan is to do Disneyland 2007 and 2008. I wonder if my DH would consider a cruise *and* Disneyland? :scratchin

Hey, I'm nearly caught up! Only 5 pages behind! And I loaded a lot of pictures onto Snapfish (over 900, do you guys really want to see that???).

Does anyone have the lost and found number for Disneyworld? We lost a hat on the last day, and I'd dearly love to have it back. But the website is NOT helpful, and my Passporter is still packed. Help?

Ohhhh baby.

JP Morgan Chase employees get 20% off Disney Theme Park tickets ;)

I was beyond pumped. There is a HUGE travel center on my employee benefits page. I have an entire section where I can plug in dates and get discounted airline tickets, too! I was SOO EXCITED! :goodvibes

I was doing BK until they hired back this uber-witch into a management position that was cleared for ME so long ago. She got moved up when I opted for Florida.. and she was horrible. Even the GM complained about her to me. She eventually asked for a transfer (more $$) to another store and THEN a week later walked out on them because she hated it. Our retarded GM just hired her back, into that same management position. Soon as they told me that, I gave them my 2wks notice. I don't need or want the stress of dealing with her. So I'll just do Chase. Not a bad thing to settle for at all. I might try to find a Christmas Help job, though. Keep my eyes open.

Between me being gone and Michael being gone.. they're pretty much all in h-e-double hockey sticks. I walked in that day and three people ran and hugged me, haha. Manager Jay included. He refused to accept my 2wks, I had to go in the office and file it myself.. :rotfl:
Only two managers are trained to close the store, which doesn't make for happy times.

Alex is still tall. He called me.. Friday night? Haven't seen him, though. Not since I've been back. Been talking to his friend a lot, though. Alex thinks I want him realllly badly. So I've been staying away from him to prove it's him who wants me :rotfl2: ;)
