OMG! Thank God you were paying attention! The same thing almost happened to us with my DD. My DH put his hand out and caught the ball, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER FACE! I can not even imagine what COULD have happened!sugaswim said:oh, so my story real quick... wednesday i got tickets to the orioles game from work (hehe i love my job, free sporting event tickets and they're always really good seats!) so we're sitting just past 1st base and 6 rows back from the front. very good seats. got to stare at markakis's butt all night, quite enjoyable... anyways i always say i want to catch a ball. the very first game i ever went to i got a ball after the game by asking the bat boy. and whenever we take my grandpa we don't sit in a spot where you can catch one. so my mom says, holly this is a perfect spot for you to get a ball. well during about the 5th or 6th inning a high foul ball came our way. and we all ducked. cause it's scary to look straight up in the sky and see it falling and you can't tell where it's going to land... it fell back behind us and a little to the right. my mom says, next time one comes our way i'm putting my jacket over my head for extra coushining![]()
so the game goes on. very end of the 8th inning... mora's up at bat, another high foul ball comes out way. i put both hands up and duck (duck and cover drill... LOL) and next thing i know... BAM! i start scream ow as loud as i possible can and stay just curled up. the ball managed to hit where both my arms were together. i had the stitching imprints on my right arm and my left are still hurts when i move it certain ways or touch it because it hit right on the bone. and while i'm curled up i just start laughing at the fact that i got hit with the ball. i had tears in my eyes from the pain but i was laughing so hard i was crying. everyone around me thought i was hurt really bad, my mom thought i was crying till everyone could see i was laughing. then the usher comes and tries to take me to first aid. i told him i was fine and didn't need to go (looking back on it now, cause it still hurts, i probably should have gone with him). and then the person that had ended up getting the ball gave it to me since i had been hit with it![]()
