There are reimbursement forms.. so It's not like i'm being stuck with the bill long-term but it's more of not having the money at this moment..

and another one of my credit cards are screwed up... so I'm on hold with an account manager. Gr.
Anyone use Orchard Bank and have a lot of issues? Every bill, I've had a problem and had to call in..

I guess I just wish she would have told me, then... when she called me.

I would have told her to wait another day and then I can do it Thursday, after I get paid. But there was no way I could get it done today and have it out in 24 hours.. Not to mention the lab I have to go to for the drug screening is in Ohio. And she said I needed to go to MY sheriff's office which is in Parkersburg.. (WV) ...so for the fingerprints, I need to go downtown (about a half hour drive) and then back to Marietta for the lab (about 45 minutes from downtown?) to a UPS store.. which are placed rather randomly.. to get it into the mail. I don't even have enough gas to do that and no money to get the gas, lol.

I'll just do it after I get off work tomorrow. I work in Vienna.. which is halfway between Williamstown (where I live) and Parkersburg (county seat).. and hope for the best?

well that's good! I understand the need to fray costs and you wouldn't believe the amount of people who cannot pass a pre-employment drug screen!

my thoughts always are: Hello- if you are looking for a new job, you might want to cut back on the recreational drug usage! Duh!

As an HR professional I have NEVER heard of a company requiring you to pay for your own drug test or criminal background check. That sounds very SHADEY to me. If you are hired do they reimburse you? If not, that would send some serious red flags.

The fact she didn't tell you at the time of offer also raises some flags.

I'd be a bit annoyed/curious if it weren't for the fact that it's a worldwide bank, haha...

She was nice all the other times she called me but yesterday, before the package, she was really curt and kinda cold. :shrugs: Maybe I'm just sensitive. I guess it IS a bit odd to be hiring someone who has such a random schedule.. Like how I can't do it tonight, because I have to be at work in an hour to close and I can't do it tomorrow morning because I open?..

No, do not hope for the best. Because if you are outside their approved window they may decide not to reimburse you or hire you then you are out the $$. Drug tests here range from $45-55. The criminal background check is $25 but we do not do fingerprints so that's probably more???

I would think they mean within a day of receiving the documents. so if you get the docs today and then go out tomorrow you are in the window. I would call and ask though (nicely mind you)

That's called "The Service Industry" and since banking sort of falls into that category she should understand.

I worked many back to backs in college at a hotel. I feel your pain!
