Hi Everyone...Only here for a few minutes between volunteering, taking Conor to the doctor and back to car line.

They said he has a virus, no strep. The quick test came back negative, they're sending the other one out to be on the safe side. The doctor said he had three cases exactly like Conor's. Conor didn't go in for Spanish this a.m. but decided he wanted to go for the afternoon because all of his academic classes are in a row and he missed them yesterday when he came home early.

He seemed to perk up when he heard it wasn't strep. His throat still hurts but his headache was gone this a.m. and he didn't have a fever. I gave him lunch and Advil and off he went. :thumbsup2

That is how my DD's started. The strep test came back negative also but now it is chest colds that will not go away. We are on week three.

awww so sad. we went for the first time in 2004. we were supposed to go to disney world that weekend but because of the hurricanes all the airports were closed. so we ended up in california on the spur of the moment. and then we went out there again this summer to see what all they were doing for the celebration. their fireworks were the best thing i've ever seen! it was so cool how the 'traveled around the park' (each part what themed to one of the rides, it was cool). and tinkerbell flies back and forth and up and down... not just from the top of the castle like at disney world! and their space moutain is AMAZING!
My mom would tell you this story about me.... she took me to WDW when it first opened (how ancient am I??? :rotfl: ) and I HATED it! I just HATED it! I thought it was the dumbest most boring place in the world. Now fast forward almost 20 years when I was "reborn" (for lack of a better word). NOW I AM ADDICTED! She thinks it's an absolute hoot that I love it so much now. I guess it made it wonderful to see it through the eyes of my kids. Either that, or I grew up and realized that it's cool to have fun. I appreciate the magic of it all, the escape from reality. I'm addicted!

I hate when stuff lingers. I had a family doctor years ago who'd prescribe a steriod for a few days when something like that hung on one of my kids. I know it's not good to take them but it was great when it would kick the virus and get rid of it. I don't know what's worse, the steroid or the lingering illness. ICK! (He was my favorite doctor ever...he left his practice and became an ER doctor. I still miss him!)

I was a young girl and I begged my dad and mom if we could go to Disneyland. Finally, they relented and we took off. We got off the 605 and was almost to the exit for Disneyland. I could see the tops of the rides and every thing (o.k, my memory might be a little fuzzy right here), but I was soooo excited to go... Well, the traffic hardly moved even in the late 70's. There must've been an accident or some thing. My dad finally said, Tae we're not going to make it today. I started bawling my eyes out. Crying, why can't we go? Can we go another way? What a lovely memory huh? i've got happier ones of course, but this one seems to be sticking out in my mind for some reason.

My parents took me to Disneyland when I was 8, but I don't remember much about it except the submarine ride--one of the few things I ever enjoyed doing with my father--and the hotel pool. My parents were definitely the stay-offsite type of people, so I have no idea what pool. And I was furious because when I got back from vacation my best friend had gotten another best friend. :furious:

We also went to Disneyworld when I was 18, but that was a long, bad trip and I moved out the day we got back. I do remember enjoying Epcot with my mother. There are a lot of things I would have done differently if I knew then what I know now.

That's so funny that you mentioned that. I always remember that happening when either I'd go away or my friends would. Everything would be different when we came back. It really bothered me. I had forgotten all about that until you said that. :rotfl2:

Thanks Amanda started 4 hours before Tim and she seems to be feeling better. She said she would try some rice for dinner. Hopefully Tim will start to feel better. He's off today and tomorrow. What a way to spend it.
