Does that mean I'll be the last to get my docs?

Someone give me an opinion...my husband's birth certificate will not make it here before we leave. He has a very, very old birth certificate that looks fake to me, but it has a raised state seal on it. I made him take it to the post office, and they said they would take it for a passport but call the passport office for confirmation. He called the passport office, and he can walk in and get a same-day passport if he's desperate--it involves a lot of jumping through hoops, but we have a passport office here--but the person on the phone said that it sounded like a valid birth certificate. We could get a passport just to be safe.

However! I told him that if he got a passport and got it stamped when HE was the reason why none of the rest of us, who have never been out of the states and would really like to have a passport with stamps from another country, got our own passports, I would commit grievous acts upon his person.

So, is it better to be safe and get a passport but become a widow? Or trust that it will be an acceptable birth certificate?

DH had a scary birth certificate for last year's cruise as well, but all they require is it to have a raised seal. I was terrified that it would not be enough, but we had NO IDEA how to get him a new one as we booked fairly close to the sail date. I did not breathe until we got our KTTW cards and walked onto the ship!

you know one way to look at it... at least they're sick now. hopefully it will get out of the systems and they'll be healthy and fit for the cruise!

It's always nice to have an attorney around in the event they change and/or alter our cruise in an inappropriate manner. You can make them "Walk The Plank"

I could but then I would be worried/stressed if it doesn't look exactly how you expected it to. Plus the chart she gave me has only table sizes of 8, 6 & 4 and I know for a fact they have 10 tops and 12 tops. So I'm not sure that who you think is at a particular table really will be. Plus there are no table numbers on the chart.

I plan on posting pics of my group the Monday or Tuesday prior to sailing. I'm hoping the green bracelets do the trick!

i know they can do 13... the first one we went on there were 13 of us... the 6 of us in my family, my grandparents, my aunt, uncle and 3 cousins

Yeah it is finally official! We also got lanyards with the 50 anniversary pin and KTTW holders. I guess my TA meets us at the airport. What a great job! I want it. I am so excited now.

Oh, wow. All my brother's college friends are kinda crazy. Only one would have been dateable..

But man.. if Alex is already 6'5".. he's definitely going to keep getting taller... maybe he'll even reach 6'10"

As for robbing the cradle.. I don't know. We'll see if anything even comes to that.
I told him I'd go to a movie with him the other night after work.. he got off at 7:30 and told me to call him.. I was like 'No, just come back if you really want to go."
He was back in 45 minutes looking rather spiffy and waited on me for over an hour to get done at work.
I think he likes me..

ummm, yes earlier this summer. She hid and took some long scissors to her hair, front and back. Her hair is finally in recovery mode.

this is funny, my ex-husband is 6'2 and i'm 5'3, it was never a problem, I loved that he was so much larger than me.

As for robbing the cradle, when we got married he was 26 and I was 32.

I don't think the reason he left me was because he was tall, or because he was younger than me.

Despite his breaking my heart ..... we are still good friends and talk nearly every day.

I would still go for a tall guy and wouldn't care if he was younger than me, but since I'm 34 now, 16 would just be too wrong.

Hi everyone! Back from a fun-filled night at open house at Conor's school!

I am 5'3" and Chris is 6'2" and I am 9 years older. So...the moral of the story, go for the tall ones and ROB THAT CRADLE!

So can someone give me a consensus (sp?), please? NO JACKETS (for the men)?? What about a button down long-sleeve shirt and tie? Just how dressy is everyone going to be on semi-formal (or whatever it is called) night?

Also, WAS THAT A YAY OR NAY TO BRINGING GOOD JEWELRY ON THE CRUISE? I think I only go a couple of replies on that question. I'm only talking about my engagement ring, not the Hope diamond or anything.

Oh, and I like the 9:00 am meet at Cove Cafe for goodie bags (if it's before we disembark for Nassau).

No jacket for Chris. He'll wear a dress shirt and possibly a tie, that's as dressy as he's going. We're not bringing a jacket/suit nor tux.

I don't have ultra expensive jewelry. What I have I wear every day, never take it off, so that's my response to that question.

I also love the 9:00 am Cove Cafe meet for the goody bags but I will need a reminder right before we sail so the update post will be great for me!
